Description for Pontiac GTO 1970
I decided to relist one more week. We've had some weather move through and I have clean up to do and that takes priority right now. If I can just move it on right now I will. I posted some offers I have had through ebay. I also had trades and offers over the phone and texts. My best offer so far is $31,000, so please don't offer anything less. If you have a trade, please send a picture and the deal you would like to make. If your offer is not declined, please look for a message from me. I will need to talk to you before I will except. I need to know you are a serious buyer and answer any questions you may have. Thanks!
1970 GTO convertible. Unrestored survivor. This car is in amazing condition. A very desirable color combination of black, black top and red interior from the factory. Top is like new and works perfectly, interior is a very nice survivor condition (carpet may have been replaced). Body has had a base/clear repaint at some point. As you can see by the pictures the rubber nose has some cracking on it (not unusual) and a few blemishes here and there that will not show up in pictures. All original body panels, car has spent most of it's existence in California. You can see by the pictures of the floor that the R rear floor pan has been replaced with good workmanship and has fresher black paint on it. Original quarter panels are in fantastic condition. It looks like a small patch on both quarter's was put in the lowest corner behind the rear wheel where a lot of debris collect if the drain hole is plugged (not unusual). All body bushings look really good!
The previous owner said the engine was rebuilt. It does run and sound great, but I see a lot of original fasteners and hose clamps. Maybe it was a factory replacement or it was done early on. I cannot make out the serial number (it is very faint). It is a YS block. So to be safe consider that it is not a number's matching engine. The transmission is number's matching and there is a picture of the serial number on it. The exhaust looks original with original style mufflers and exhaust tips with the factory part numbers stamped in them. The GTO also has its original 14" Rally II wheels.
Parts replaced I can see are new ball joints, A arm bushings, upper and lower control arm bushings. The car runs and drives down the road like it did in 1970. Power top works good, interior lights, horn, wipers, turn signals, brake lights and running lights. A/C belt needs replaced, but compressor clutch is free and there is pressure in the system. You are going to want to convert it to 134A anyway (it's a good time to do that).
This is not a auction and I will also advertise on other sites, so it may be removed at anytime. I may consider trades on muscle cars, hot rods and cool trucks only (no motorcycles, boats, RV's etc.).
Please call with questions. Thanks, Mike 479-228-4304
