Description for Pontiac Trans Am 1979
1979 Trans Am California LA built car 62k miles. Transported to Michigan in 2017, had not been licensed since 1998. Rotisserie done as a SE clone with nearly 600 hours labor. Car is not a 100% accurate clone but very close. Upgrades include all WS6 suspension from a 1981. Steering gear box, 4 wheel disc brakes, brake booster, brake proportioning valve, front sway bar, rear sway bar, 3.08 disc limited slip rear axle, control arm to frame support brackets, etc. 403 engine runs well, nice exhaust tone. Don't know much about engine I tried to find out history but was unsuccessful. I pulled the pan just to have a look inside. I could see the pistons looked new. I was able to put a dial caliper on piston skirt and measure .030 over making displacement a 408. I imagine it has a mild cam because the exhaust sound is different from the car I used the exhaust off. I have another 408 car and took the exhaust for this car and they play 2 different exhaust notes. This car sounds way better! Transmission is completely rebuilt with a nice firm shift. Paint is awesome! Though I have not had this car appraised every other car that has been done comes back show quality. Since it is the same painter I don't think this would be any different. Way to many new parts to even try to list. Every part on this car has been cleaned, painted, rebuilt or inspected. Sorry A/C is not operational, face it the T tops are going to be out anyway! A/C components are hung with a new orifice tube installed but up to the buyer if wants to take the time to function. Please message for any specific details. I have done multiple rotisserie Trans Am's. If a part or something is not exactly as a 1979 SE was born. Believe me I already know, I was employed as a Pontiac technician when these cars were still under warranty. I know these cars very well and build them because I love them! At the time I have wrote this listing I have put about 200 miles since finished to work all the gremlins out. Car is located north of Detroit. Willing to take a partial trade for any 1970-78 Trans Am or a 79 Z code. Mileage will change as I take it to cruise nights on a regular basis.$500 immediate non-refundable deposit at auction close. Car must be paid in cash at pickup within 7 days unless prior arrangements made through Ebay messaging. Please ask questions before bidding. Have vehicle inspected if you are too far away. Details five86 382-13fivesix. I don't want to have to sell this multiple times to find a buyer that follows through. I have sold cars to major classic dealers and auctions. Car is located about 35 miles north of Detroit. On Jul-20-19 at 10:01:38 PDT, seller added the following information:
