Description for Pontiac Firebird 1978
Showing off the aerodynamic flash this generation of its coveted muscle car model is known for, this 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Restomod is awfully impressive while just attracting attention at a standstill. Get behind the wheel and put this beast through its paces and it becomes downright irresistible. Professionally configured and equipped with a host of modern upgrades for an outstanding driving experience and abundant power, this Pontiac exemplifies what the restomod niche is all about. Pontiac capitalized on the popularity of its first generation of Firebirds by creating a more aerodynamic and lower profile sequel reflected by this '78. Having ventured fewer than 1400 miles since its build and being consistently sheltered indoors, its curb appeal absolutely pegs the meter with an exterior that features a pristine white backdrop with those trademark Firebird accenting decals in red and gray to convey a thoroughly authentic and eye catching appearance - this is an excellent color combination. Its precise configuration becomes obvious right away at close range - this is a very well-aligned classic and as you take a lap around it, you'll appreciate just how straight its body lines are and how the gaps surrounding doors, hood and decklid are tight and even. Fresh rubber seals from front to back keep the elements from intruding and the top tier, upgraded suspension this Firebird rides on also affords it with an outstanding stance. Inside the doors, the red vinyl interior has been thoroughly refurbished while retaining its stock configuration, and with everything inside the doors brought to the highest standards, this is a comfortable driving space you'll definitely look forward to spending plenty of time in. Describing this interior as "clean" doesn't really do it service - it's exceptional. The front buckets and rear bench seat appear just as they did when this muscle car rumbled onto the asphalt some 40-plus years ago and they sit over matching red carpet that still looks new. The original Trans Am-style steering wheel is still in place, while just beyond, the dash area is in top form - its textured chrome instrument panel holds an assortment of upgraded Dakota Digital gauges that illuminate the cabin while keeping a read on motoring functions, and the dash pad across the top is still straight and shows no cracking. The comfort factor is taken care of as well - there's a Classic Auto Air climate control system on board to keep things nice and cool and this Pontiac classic also features a very strong audio experience. The LS3 engine beneath the hood could propel this Firebird with gusto based on just its displacement, and it's been equipped with a variety of well-chosen accompaniments to boost both its output and dependability further - it started off with both horsepower and torque that well exceeded the 400 mark to begin with, and has since been armed with an Edelbrock intake manifold, Trick Flow roller cam, Comp rockers and lifters, and a Fast Fuel injection system, so you can only imagine what this powerplant is capable of as it teams with a 4 speed automatic 4L65E transmission. Tubular control arms with coilovers up front upgrade both its handling and ride quality as it scorches the asphalt on its set of 17" Snowflake wheels wrapped with stout 275 tires at all four corners while power disc brakes in both front and back bring it to a stop as quickly as needed. Even among the most painstakingly restored classics, this 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Restomod is an absolute standout, so it's not likely to last long. Call today!
