Description for Pontiac Fiero 1986

Here is a used 1986 Pontiac Fiero in good condition. It is of course a 2.8 V-6 engine with a 4 speed manual transmission.Car has 77,000 miles and I am the third owner,I have had the car for 4 years and used it as my daily driver.Very nice driving car with many good points and a few weak points.First,be sure to check out the wheel well openings,I have always felt that Fieros looked almost like off road vehicles with wheel openings too large for the wheel/tire,so I fabricated small fiberglass flares that closed up the wheel openings and I felt improved the appearance considerably.I did fabricate the flares in a professional manner and they have been mounted properly.Take a look at the side view of an average Fiero and then compare to a side view of this car.Have never had any overheating issues,I added a small aluminum deflector for added cooling and even on the hottest summer months never experienced any problems. The interior is in very good condition,no tears or visual damage, could probably use a good detailing inside as well as outside. The side GT plexiglass windows are not discolored, hazy or cracked. The headliner was removed and the sagging fabric was repaired. The headlights operate as they should, the power windows work, the power locks work, the sunroof does not leak.Rear defogger works. All instrumentation and switches work properly.Over the 4 years that I have driven the car I have replaced the tires, the clutch master/slave cylinder, the heater core, rear brake hoses, one rear caliper, pads,,front brake rotors and pads, calipers, oil pressure sensor, numerous switches and the usual maintenance and tune up items.I also upgraded the A/C to R134A and replaced the compressor and had one of the A/C lines repaired this summer (quite costly). At the same time I had one inner tie rod end replaced and also had a wheel alignment done. Those are some of the many good points and here are the weak points:The paint is good, there are two scratches on the hood and there is a little bit of fading in some areas, but nothing that a good polishing and buffing would not cure. There are many tiny nicks in the front fascia, but no damage of any kind. When driving at 70 mph for long distances the service engine soon light goes on and off and I do not know why,car runs perfectly fine,so I never bothered with it.The stereo works, but the cassette player does not.The parking brake is inoperative,I never used it,so I never cared. The cruise control works, but if you signal while the cruise control is on it cuts out,but then it works properly after you signal. The passenger side window does not go down completely,it leaves approx.1" of glass showing when the window is lowered. To sum it up,this is a very nice driving used Fiero,I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere, just may need a little bit of attention to be exactly what you may want it to be.Will gladly work with prospectivd buyers regarding shipping or pickup.Prospective buyers would need to pay with Paypal or cashier's check or with cash.Any payment would need to be approved by my bank. Please feel free to ask questions and I will gladly assist and as always,Thanks for looking,Mike
