Drivetrain

A flip of the hood and we are greeted by the beautifully rebuilt & restored 350ci V8 4-barrel atop an aluminum intake accompanied by a rebuilt & restored 2-speed Power Glide automatic transmission. A color correct light blue block, ceramic coat exhaust manifolds, powder coated engine bay cross braces, powder coated pulleys & brackets, powder coated thermostat housing, chromed valve covers, and a restored chrome air cleaner, with all new shiny supple rubber hoses, belts, and wires.

Interior

A custom Deluxe Gold (Pontiac's words) interior in Strato Bucket seats, flank a wood applique center console which stratches from the back seat, all the way up to the dash. A 2-speed shifter is within this console, as is a storage box between the front seats. An aftermarket instrument panel sits on top of the center console behind the shifter, and the center panel of the dash sports the same burl faux wood applique, with the original working radio and climate controls for the factory air conditioning (compressor needs replaced). The instruments are inset into a forward raking dash and have a conical design for easier reading. Original foot pedals float above original but in great condition carpet. There is some minor separation of the front seat seams noted in the pictures as well as some cracking on the backside of the original steering wheel which is common for first gen Firebirds and having the original steering wheel is uncommon. An all original interior here!

Exterior

Completely original and accident free exterior steel panels with only some imperfections that are to be expected from this 50 year old garage kept beauty. The Verdoro Green paint is holding up very well having been resprayed in the 2000’s by the 2nd owner. All of the chrome, trim and brite work is original and is in very nice condition with virtually no pitting, dimpling or rust. All of the original stainless rocker trim and wheel well brite work, all good here with a few minor imperfections that will be noted in the pictures. The convertible top has a minor hole that will be noted in the pictures and was replaced in the early 2000’s. The top is power operated with the a push of a switch and moves up and down flawlessly. The distinctive Pontiac identity starts with the front grille with a wide peripheral front bumper, strong vertical center and horizontally mounted dual headlamps. A full width rocker molding with 6 vertical louvers are on the front of the rear quarter panel, just behind the doors. Bringing up the real is a protective wrap around bumper, louver style tail lamp, and chrome edge strips that house the backup lights. The paint has some scratches and chips as documented as much as possible in the pictures but looks good. Could use some love.
She has new BF Goodrich radial tires, she's ready to roll! Undercarriage

A structurally sound frame is jet black as are the floor pans, and wheel wells. The rust free undercarriage has never been sprayed so nothing is hiding here and its garage kept life is evident.Additional improvements include; replaced all wearable items (all engine gaskets, front & rear Timken bearings, pitman arm, springs, bushings, double roller timing chain, oil pump, water pump, thermostat, PCV valve, plugs, wires, gaskets, belts, hoses, gas lines, spark plug wires, etc…). Upgraded the drum brakes to 4 wheel disc brakes, upgraded brake booster & master cylinder and all new stainless brake lines, new steering and suspension components (inner & outer tie rods, idler arm and center link, pitman arm adjustment, etc…), upgraded to an electronic distributor and ignition coil for reliable starting, new period correct Rally II wheels, and BF Goodrich radial tires.
The throaty but not obnoxious Magna Flow dual exhaust provides the finishing touch to this original numbers matching survivor.
