Description for Pontiac Trans Am 1978
This is a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans am. It is an extremely high optioned car,see the picture of the original factory build sheet and owners manual. It has its original matching numbers 400 engine. It is an original 4 speed car. It’s gold, with a saddle interior. The interior is in excellent condition, including the carpet, headliner, seats and dash. Someone in the past removed most of the air conditioning components. They also removed the original carb, and intake manifold. These parts are not with the car. It now has headers and a very loud exhaust system. I bought it with plans to return it to stock, but I have to many projects to get to it. The body is in nice shape with just a couple of small rust spots. The paint is very nice. The trunk is in good shape. The floors are good except for one small spot by the drivers left heel, that needs a patch. The metal piece in front of the dash pad needs replacement or repair. The tachometer and the oil pressure gauges aren’t working. The power locks don’t really work. The car drives very well with no rattles or shakes. It has TA radials, that are in great shape. The clutch and transmission shift very well. It may of had engine work, because it’s fast, and loud. I don’t have a PHS report, because there is no need to order one when you have the original build sheet. This is an unusual car because it’s a 4 speed car, and you seldom see one with all of the options that this one has. You could keep it hot rodded as it is, or find some original parts to return it to stock. Please don’t bid on it unless you intend to buy it, and have the money.
