Description for Pontiac Le Mans 1972
“SUPREME HEAD TURNING CUSTOM” 1972 PONTIAC LEMANS! AUTOMATIC. FLOOR SHIFTER! 22 INCH CHROME! SIDE EXIT CHAMBERED EXHAUST!!! 1972 was a good year for Pontiac. Although the muscle car wars was dying down General Motors was still hard at work creating awesome vehicles. These cars “although bigger” are quickly becoming a fan favorite among the muscle car crowd. Ride. handling and safety moved to the forefront In regards to importance. This particular 72 Lemans is simply a fun car to drive! Presented in a beautiful shade of Lucerne Blue this one seems to turn heads everywhere. It is far from traditional & for that reason all it attracts crowds from all walks of life! It brings a very unique flavor to the muscle car arena! This vintage muscle car has actually only had three owners. The first owner kept the car in his possession June 2010. That’s when the car fell into the hands of the second owner who totally transformed the vehicle. To start he changed the color from green to what you see here today “I would say good move”! The color is called Lucerne Blue. It is a period correct color that is highly desirable among collectors. The paint on this Pontiac is nice! That being said there some imperfections to be found. Going down the road she looks like a million bucks! The paint shines wonderfully at any given time of day and transforms into a gloss medium blue at night! The finish is very uniform and provides a great contrast in regards to the white vinyl top! Compliments are ever present & the car looks incredible going down the freeway or sitting still! This vehicles foundation is sound as well. The body of the vehicle is solid and there are no rust issues to speak of. There has been previous body work done {at the time of color change}. The paint job was done a few years ago so a few chips. etc are present. I am sure that the new owner will love this car. Since I have been known to be called a perfectionist I feel comfortable saying that this Lemans can be considered at least driver quality. There is one small area on the drivers side lower fender that shows damage. It’s nothing to write home to mom about but still worth mentioning {please see photos}. During the second owners quest to make a tricked out ride he went above the call of duty to customize it! Most people love the Pontiac Arrow that was embroidered on the trunk lid. The insignia casts a unique reflection & has a mirror like image that always draws attention! The bright white vinyl top previously mentioned looks fantastic! The top is in excellent shape and really adds character to this 72 Lemans! The rear window molding needs to be replaced. Easy fix probably will be down before the car leaves. Upon opening up the doors and taking a peek inside you will find an extraordinary custom interior. Once again this car is not your status quo everyday boring muscle car. It definitely has a flare for the dramatic. The seat upholstery was done by California Ripped Customs. Several well known hip hop. rock and R&B artist have had their vehicles interior designed by them. The interior in this little Pontiac cost over $2300 alone! You will find that people talk about the interior of the car more than the exterior. It is most certainly beyond evident that this car is ready for center stage whenever it is taken out of the garage! The seat upholstery & door panels are in phenomenal condition. The headliner is also extremely nice also! The custom steering wheel is absolutely stunning and the dash pad is in excellent shape! This Poncho has a power sunroof & center console to boot! The surrounding factory glass & front windshield are damage free. Just about ever piece of the interior is new! Now on to one of my favorite topics in regards to the vehicle……the drive train! This Lemans left the factory with a screaming 400 V/8 under the hood. However it now has a Olds V/8! I must say that it has one of the best performing Chevy V/8’s that I have ever driven! It has a 307 engine that has been totally freshened up! The motor is extremely responsive & it really loves the open road. The previous owner explained to me how they had a local shop constantly looking for a low mileage first gen small block Chevy engine. His quest ended a couple of years ago when he acquired this motor. He had it gone through & had it set to respectable specs in regards to H. P. With the slightest twist of the key you will quickly come to realize that there was much more than routine done than a routine rebuild done! The car sounds extremely healthy and the block helps to belt out an incredible note! Driving this vehicle is a blast & there’s no doubt a muscle car is heading you way when she’s on the road! Joining in the fight is an awesome turbo 350 transmission that has also been rebuilt with a shift kit! The transmission engages properly and provides plenty of torque! Must drive / Must see to appreciate! “She has plenty of get up and go “yet the car is extremely user friendly”. This Pontiac has a chambered exhaust system with dual two chamber Master Performance mufflers. The exhaust has been customized to exit at the rear from the side. Great tone…. nostalgic muscle car growl! This one also has a fairly new set of 22 inch Chrome mags wheels installed on it with new Hankook performance radials!!! It handles like a vintage muscle car should! The suspension is in very good shape & plenty of additional parts have been replaced underneath as well. This Lemans has a very rich history & value as it hasn’t passed many hands. Why it is not show car I would still say that it is very nice! Garaged and covered {car cover included}. This gorgeous 72 is ready to be enjoyed. I am listing this one way below book. For what I am listing the car for you simply can’t go wrong! Too many good things to say about this one. At the end of the day I am sure that the new potential owner will be more than pleased with this classic Lemans. You may even consider making this one a GTO clone!!! On Nov-30-14 at 05:35:10 PST. seller added the following information:Not that it amounts to a hill of beans but. the motor in the car is a GM motor {Oldsmobile}. Great little engine runs strong! Also the car left the factory with a 350 motor. Thanks & Happy Holidays. I appreciate the trade offers however at this time I can't use another vehicle.
