Description for Porsche 911 1975
1975 Porsche 911S This 1975 Porsche 911S was purchased new in April of 1975 from Gardner Motors Porsche in Bernardsville, .J. This beautifully original example is finished in Grand Prix White over Black Leatherette and comes with an extensive service history over the last five years. My father and I are the fourth known owners of this un-restored, nmolested car and are now parting with it to make room for another classic Porsche acquisition. We believe the mileage to be correct for the vehicle as do the Porsche specialists who have performed work for us over the last year on the vehicle. Following you’ll find over 50 photographs and detailed information outlining the known history and condition of this 911 with additional photos and .pdf’s of the service records available via Dropbox. Any questions, lease ask! Exterior The Grand Prix White exterior is the original paint and shows very well for 40 years and almost 50,000 miles. There are minor blemishes in the finish and quite a few stone chips on the lower front spoiler and just behind the rear tires, aturally. The trim and brightwork is in very good condition as well with little in the way of wear, xidation, r other corrosion; only the slightest blemishes. The glass is very well kept and does not show signs of pitting or scratching. The rubber trim of the front and rear bumpers, s well as the sides, as only the slightest bit of fading and is not broken or torn. Solid Body The body of the car is solid and shows little in the way of rust. The battery tray and floor pans are in very good condition as are the corners of the door jams. Very minor surface rust can be seen along the lower rocker panels and on the stone chips behind the rear wheels. It appears that the inner door jams and front fenders have been treated with a rust-proofing such as Ziebart that looks like syrup in color. Interior Drivers Compartment Inside you’ll find a very clean and well preserved interior. The driver’s seat is in excellent condition with solid, ear free bolsters and barely any wear. Door panels are in good condition only showing some parting of the black leatherette in the inner edges of the door pockets. In place of the stock steering wheel you’ll find a vintage MOMO Prototipo wheel finished in leather with a Porsche crest center. Interior Accessories All interior accessories work as they should. The ventilation and heating system controls correctly operate the fresh air flaps and the direction of airflow towards your feet and upward towards your face. The red lever regulates the flow of hot air from the heat exchanges perfectly when the heat is turned on. The radio is operational but who needs that when you have such a great sound coming from behind. The other accessories such as rear window defroster, igarette lighter, lovebox knob and light are operational as well. Gauges In February, ll of the gauges were tested for accuracy and were found to be in working order. The fuel gauge reads correctly and most important, he oil level gauge is working and shows the level when the engine is running and warm while on a flat even surface. The temperature and pressure gauges function properly, s well as the speedometer, achometer, nd odometer; even the clock keeps time accurately. Dash Cover & Overhead The upper dash is in good condition and free of any cracks, ears or warping from the sun. Overhead the headliner is very clean and does not droop or pull from the roof. Sun visors are in good condition but are “puffy,” which is typical of a car of this vintage. Transmission & Center Controls Shifting with the 5-speed manual transmission is a pleasure. The gearbox is very smooth and the clutch engagement is right on as it should be. In November of 2013, he clutch and flywheel were replaced during an engine-out service at Classic Motors in Washington DC. Between the front seats you’ll find the emergency brake as well as heater control levers and the hand throttle; all of which work properly. Passenger Compartments The passenger compartments are in very good condition like the rest of the interior. As with the drivers door panel, he passenger panel has the same leatherette separation inside the door pocket. In the back, he rear seats look great as does the carpeting underfoot and on top of the parcel shelf. Front Storage Up front the storage compartment is clean and tidy. Prop open the hood and the struts hold as they should. Pull back the carpeting and you’ll find the spare tire, ack, attery, nd original tool kit. The metal under the carpet is in good condition and is not rusting through or soft, t is very solid. Engine Overview The engine is in very good condition and has been thoroughly maintained over the last five years. I have the service history from November of 2011, hrough the most recent work performed in May of this year. She starts every time without a struggle and settles into a consistent RPM as the engine warms up. Pulls through each gear are strong and power delivery feels as it should with a 2.7, mooth and drama free. Engine-out Service In November of 2013, lassic Motors of Washington DC performed a major engine out service. During this service the upper and lower valve cover gaskets were replaced as was the timing chain cover gasket (left & right), ransmission differential output shaft side seal, nd various other engine gaskets. Clutch and flywheel were replaced at this service along with the rear sway bar bushings and sway bar drop link bushings. Most Recent Service Earlier this year a compression and leakdown test was performed by Orbit Racing in Florida. Plugs and wires were replaced after that check-up in February, nd in April they replaced the intermediate shaft cover seal, gnition distributor cap, gnition distributor rotor, uffler exhaust gasket, nd steering rack boots. We also had a fresh oil change (47,875 miles), ransmission oil change, nd the fuel filter, ump, nd hose replaced. Currently, he rear hood struts need to be replaced and the engine leaves a few small drips on my garage floor like any vintage car would. All of these records dating back to November of 2011 are available via Dropbox in .pdf format. Matching Number's The car is a numbers matching example with a chassis number of 9115200386, ngine number of 6450512, nd transmission number of 150714. These numbers are verified in the original owners manual as well as the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and are pictured below. Wheels, ires, rakes Wheels and tires are in good condition with plenty of tread remaining on the Yokohama tires. In May of this year the front brakes were serviced at 48,140 miles. Front pads and rotors were replaced as were the front brake hoses. Brakes were bled and the car was checked over for any other needed repairs. Additional Information With the sale of the car you will receive both sets of keys, he original owners manual, orsche Certificate of Authenticity, riginal tool kit, nd Porsche car cover. I’ve made every effort to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, ut at the end of the day this vehicle is being sold as-is where-is. If you cannot view this vehicle in person here in Easton, ennsylvania, lease make arrangements to have a third party come inspect the vehicle or have a pre-purchase inspection done at a local facility. This is a beautiful, riginal, intage Porsche and we hope that it goes to a good home where I’m sure she will be enjoyed for many years.
