1989 Porsche 928 S4
This Porsche 928 S4 stands out from other 928:

- No ugly DOT side markers
- No ugly rear plastic bumper guards
- Rare H4 headlights
- Dark green color with black interior
- Low Mileage
This is because this car was not a US market car. It was first shipped from Germany to Japan. The car was later brought to United Arab Emirates (Dubai) where It was purchased by an associate of mine. He brought the car to the States in 2002 where the Vehicle was declared to meet US high safety specifications. The car was then sold to me when he moved back to UAE for work and decided not to take the car with him. The car is registered and titled in Utah. It passed emissions easily well below the standard.
Reason for selling
This is my fourth 928 I have owned and I am active in the 928 community of owners. I have never owned an S4 (more powerful version) 928 until I purchased this car. The car's performance is amazing, xtremely fast. Quickest 0-60 of all the 928s. I bought it because I wanted to experience the performance of the S4 and I was pleased beyond expectations.
Although this is a low mileage powerful S4 I prefer the older late 70s model 928s that I have owned. I like the nostalgia and older body style, he S4 has a more modern body style. People at gas pumps have even asked if it was a new Porsche. The older 928s do not come close to performance to the S4 but I enjoy the underpowered peculiar style of the late 70s 928. I have a older model 928 that I am looking to purchase but I first must sell this car. If I could keep this car and purchase the other one I would most definitely, doubt I will ever come across another 928 S4 so unique.
Car Details
1989 Porsche 928 S4
Color: Forrest Green
Interior: Black Leather
Seats: 4
Low mileage 56,700 Miles
Performance
- 8 cylinder, our stroke, .0 liter V-Engine produces over 320 hp.
- 4 gear automatic transmission with manual gear shifting.
- 0-60 mph 5.4 | Quarter mile 13.7
- Factory Estimated Top Speed 171 mph (In 1986 race car driver Al Holbert set a world record 171 mph run at Bonneville Salt Flats in a pre-production model S4)
- I have installed performance exhaust X-pipe that increases the horsepower over 320hp.
Body
- 2 door coupe with rear seating and rear hatch.
- No dents, o accidents clean straight body.
- Glossy paint with minor scratches and chips (shown in pictures).
- Green is a rare color for a 928 S4. Most came in white, lack, ilver and red.
- No Sunroof, sunroof was a standard option on a 928 rarely did a buyer ask to remove that option. It is rare for a S4 to come from factory without a sunroof. Many 928 enthusiast pay thousands in body work to remove the sunroof to gain the extra headroom.
- No side markers on the front or rear fenders that came on US spec cars. Look at other S4s and you will see how the body is distorted from the designers intentions with the side markers. The car as intended is beautiful without them.
- No rear black plastic bumper guards. Look again at other S4s and notice the difference, he body is much cleaner and as intended by designers without the rear bumper guards.
- H4 head lights which distribute the light pattern differently than the US H5. The H4 are sought after for their better light pattern by 928 enthusiasts.
- Genuine Sport Techno wheels in black with Porsche Center caps. One wheel as some road rash.
- Black leather in great condition for 26 years old.
- Dash has a few small cracks hardly noticeable (shown in pictures farther below)
- Driver side mirror motor needs to be replaced.
- Both power seats work except forward and back. (Switch needs to be replaced)
- A/C does not work
- Central Locking works.
- Cruise control works.
- Rear hatch works manually but not hatch release switch.

Super car performance at an affordable price: Prices of these cars are raising dramatically take a look at the values the last few years https://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch/Report?vbe=11821
$10k in maintenance after buying the car puts me at a loss in total investment even at my asking price. I am going to lose money but that's part of the hobby and it was worth it. I am asking much less than market trends and I am still open to offers as I want to get an older model soon and start working on it before winter.
How many times have you seen a 928? or even an 928 S4? production levels are extremely low making these cars extremely rare. Even among 928 enthusiast green is a rare color to see. Between 1977 and 1995 only 60,870 were made in the whole world http://www.928s4vr.com/928-resources/2015-01-23-21-15-13/model-info/production-numbers. (More Mustangs are made every year than the total production of the 928)
A Porsche 928 S4 is like no other car on the road, t is a joy to drive. http://www.cars.com/porsche/928/1989/consumer-reviews
