Description for Porsche 911 1983
I am selling this car for my son. It is a U.S. car.
It was purchased for him in 2005. He had all of the engine/drive train work completed late 2013.
Car has less than 3,000 miles since complete engine rebuild/re-bore. Transmission rebuilt, ew struts and shocks, ew front brakes, ew stainless steel dual exhaust, ew airconditioning system (notfully installed but have all parts), 4 headlights. Engine is awesome although a bid too loud for my taste as a result of the mufflers my son chose. I believe the shift linkage needs adjustingas it seems the throw to 2nd. gear is too long. None of the folks who have driven it feel the way I do but since I have no Porsche experience before this one, am just giving my assessment.
Recently a "glitch" in the ignition switch has developed - infrequently the key needs to be turned on and off more than a couple times before the starter engages. No always and not the majority of the time.
Paintis original (as best all experts can tell) and is very glossy and has virtually no blemishes. Body has no dents. Glass is perfect all around.
Car had to set outside for 2 months in Oregon rain. Sun roof weep holes were plugged and allowed water to drip on back seat which released the adhesive that holds the "butt pads"in place.
Car fax shows "incident" in 2004 before my son bought the car. I have had body and fender assessment and it appears the incident may only have been a dent to the hood as there is evidence that the hood has been repainted (painted over the factory sticker adhered to inside of trunk) and no other visible signs of repair.
