Description for Porsche 356 1961
This is a 1961 Porsche 356B 1600 Super that's being sold for restoration. It was purchased in 1994, nd restoration was begun on it. Body was sandblasted removing older/substandard repair work, nd sprayed with primer. Floors were replaced and heater channels/inner rocker panels reconstructed. Rear section of left front fender has been cut out due to previous poor repair. There is surface rust breaking through the primer over the entire vehicle due to its prolonged storage. There are areasof sheet metal that have small holes due to previous corrosion, hich were exposed during sandblasting, nd will need repair. There are small dents and dings over the entire body which will need repair. Please review all photos to determine the vehicle condition for yourself. All of the glass is intact and in good shape. Interior was removed for sandblasting, ut the front seats are torn. No headliner. Carpet may or may not be salvageable.
There is NO MOTOR with the car. It does have the transmission, ut I have no idea of the condition. The brake shoes have seized to the brake drums, o the car DOES NOT ROLL. You will need away to pull the car up onto what ever is being used to transport it.
New patch panels that come with the car include: L&R outer rocker panels, &R rear sections for front fenders, runk floor panels, ack pockets.
Its a great project car, specially as these guys become more rare and more desirable. I had to stop the restoration over 15 years ago due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, hich I've never fully recovered from. At this point I will never complete the project, nd would like to see it go to someone who will.
