Description for Porsche 914 1975
This is a 5 year long, otisserie restoration. The car has been media blasted to bare metal, owder coated, hen body work and paint. A complete chronicle of the car's progression can be seen on the 914 world website under the garage title "the restoration begins" (by 993innc). There you'll find hundreds of of pictures of the cars progression up until paint and some assembly. The rest was pictured privately as time went on. Everything has been replaced or reconditioned including small parts like headlight pieces and door handle parts (down to minor pins and rods). The only interior parts not recon'd are the A pillar trim and roll bar pads. All other interior pieces reupholstered. The dash pad was stripped and recovered and is original to the car. The steering wheel is a period correct Momo date stamped 1977. There are factory parts on the car with original date stamps on them still. The seats and dash, s well as back pad have all been reupholstered with deviated yellow stitching to match the car and is another hit with all that see it.The car is an 1.8L FI car but was converted for this build to dual Dellorto 40 carbs. I have all of the FI parts and will go with the sale. The other items not recon'd or replaced are the tail lenses. I have been waiting for new Euro lenses for quite some time and they are still not available. The original ones are in ok shape but I would like to have or see replaced since the rest of the car looks new. All bright work and any black parts are powder coated not painted and make the car look sooo much newer and really update it.Feel free to ask any questions. I have pictures of most anything you can think of and some you may not. The 914 World website is a great place to answer most of your quality of build questions, lease do take a look there first. The car is listed in other venues and I reserve the right to cancel at any time. I will assist with shipping, ut expense is yours. You can not replicate the amount of work that has gone into this car, or this money. This is not a paint and clean up, his is a proper restoration, ou can eat off the underside of this car!! As well the speedo was set to zero miles, nd reflects the actual mileage since newly finished. Currently 1800+ miles. I do drive the car from time to time and will have more added until it's sold.
Thanks for your interest and I look forward to knowing it's going to a new loving home. "Summer" (it's name and original paint color name) is my first restoration of a 914. I have two more to restore as well as a VW Scirocco S and a Speedster replica. I am simply passing this car on.
Thanks for looking.
