Description for Porsche 911 1988
Selling my 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa. Non Smoker. Engine Completely rebuilt @ 165095 miles by Mike Callas at Rennsport Racing in Sealy, X Oct 2013. Full documentation. Transmission also disassembled and repaired/cleaned.I purchased this vehicle in Houston, 011. As far as I can tell, his car was originally delivered to Houston, oved to California, hen returned to Texas in the late 90's, arly 00's. I have the original book showing the first years of ownership and maintenance, nd then I have everything I have done since owning the car.
This is a rust-free, il leak-free, moke-free air cooled 3.2 literCarrera.
Repairs/Upgrades I have made while in my possession since 2011:
Replaced CV Joints Nov 2012
Replaced rear left wheel bearing Nov 2012
Replaced front left and right A Arm bushings June 2012
Replaced rear left and rightspring plate bushings June 2012
Replaced left and right ball joints Sept 2011
Upgraded to Turbo Tie Rods Sept 2011
Replaced all 4 shocks Sept 2011
Replaced left and right rear drop links Sept 2011
Replaced fuel pump Jul 2012
Replaced O2 sensor, i>Jul 2012
Replaced left and right Targa seals Oct 2013Replaced starter Jan 2013Installed strut tower brace Sept 2011I removed the radio and installed a radio-delete faceplate. It was a waste of weight, s I always want to listen to the engine's lovely mechanical roar.
Have done all preventative maintenance at recommended intervals (i.e. distributor, otor, il, ransmission flush, park plugs, tc.)
Work done by Rennsport Racing, ealy TX. Odometer reading 165095, i>Oct 2013 (Will provide documentation upon request):Complete engine teardown; Replaced rod and main bearings and rod bolts; replaced valve guides; complete valve job.Repaired fuel linesPolished crankshaftInstalled new oil lineInstalled SSI heat exchangersSublet Cylinders NikasiledSublet machine flywheelSublet camshaft polish to a 964 profileInstalled rear AC condenser; evacuated and charged.
Engine is still oil leak-free, nd purrs like a kitten. The engine has about 15,XXX miles on it. With the rebuilt engine, 64 cams and SSI heat exchangers (I have not had it dyno'd) I would guess peak horsepower is at 235, lus or minus.
I've included pictures during the rebuild, s well as photos I took while working on the car myself. I also took some pictures of the various cars that Rennsport was working on at the time he rebuilt my engine...it's a Porsche enthusiast's dream!
When I give it the beans, nd rev the engine to 6000 RPM, which it absolutely loves!) I'm reminded of that scene in Apocalypse Now, hen Flight of the Valkyries is blaring and the beach explodes with fireballs of Napalm. It's like that.
