Produced in 03/73 and commonly referred to as a 1973.5, s only the 911T cars produced from Jan '73 through July '73 had the CIS injection and other updates, ut still enjoyed the lighter weight and classic look of the "Long Hood & Small bumpers".

These are the most desirable of the early 911's, ecause of the relatively torquey new 2.4L flat-six engine, nd the new 915 gearbox, both having been introduced in '72, nd now improved with addition of CIS injection, eplacing the T model's Solex carburetors. The E and S models cars still used the older "MFI" injection, hich was a little racier, ut not very efficient or well behaved. The CIS injection system is very smooth and well mannered, nd this 911T will pull 5th gear easily from 1500 rpm without a hiccup.
A recent leakdown test showed less than 4% leak down on all six cylinders, hich is exceptional by anyone's standards, nd supports the strong running performance this 911T delivers. Interestingly, nly the 1973.5 CIS system has the injector in the cylinder head, s all subsequent models ('74-on) moved the injector to the intake manifold.
These 1973.5 1973 911T's weresomewhat unique, nd fuel injected versions were only produced for the last six months of the model year before the new "74 model cars came out with the big bumpers. It was the swan song of the early series 911's. This particular car was delivered August 10, 973 by Williams Porsche -Audi in Lansing Michigan to Keith Muntyan of East Lansing. It received the 1000 mile service just 6 days later at 653 miles. The car's provenance includes the original maintenance booklet containing this information, s well as stamps for the 10,000 mile service, 0,000 mile service, nd 100,000 mile service. There are also many individual service records dating from to 1991 - 2002 where the car was located in San Rafael and San Francisco California.
Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, nd California Title included.
Recent mechanical attention in the last 12 months include rebuilt shifter (front and rear), ebuilt rear brake calipers, ompletely restored oil tank, ew oil cooler, eals and gaskets, ll new oil lines, ew OEM airbox, op-off valve, nd completely restored intake system. All parts used were original OEM-spec parts, r NOS Porsche parts where possible. Now running Brad Penn oil, ith a new Porsche oil cooler, il filter and air filter. The utmost care and attention to detail were observed in the mechanical work, esulting in avery reliableengine that starts and runs beautifully. The engine compartment is sanitary as is the underside of the engine/transmission. The cam boxes sweat on both sides sweat a little, ut considering this engine has never been apart, nd the leakdown numbers are below 4% on allsix cylinders, decided to leave it alone.
Service records since 2008 show the car received a new muffler, ew windshield, new fuel pump, uel tank removed, leaned and relined, eplaced fuel filter and lines, alve adjustment, urbo valve covers, ebuilt distributor, ew spark plugs, ebuilt alternator, ew fan belt, ubber engine compartment seal, nd more. The clutch and gearbox are smooth and solid, ith records indicating a complete transmission and differential rebuild in 1992. The points ignition has been upgraded with electronic unit inside distributor. The brakes are firm and reassuring with new pads and fluid. This car is being driven regularly, nd continually improved, aving just received a new set of Wevo 'Black' engine mounts,as well as newstock transmission mounts, ompletely rebuilt axles and boots, nd a fresh gearbox oil change using Redline MTL.
This car has been fitted with adjustable 911 'S' rear control arms, oni Sport gas shocks, as been lowered slightly, ligned, nd corner weighted for direct feel and responsive handling. All the Fuchs wheels (5) are correct, nd in excellent original condition with new "205/60-15" Michelin tires (4). All gauges and lights work correctly with the exception of the clock. The tachometer bounces a little when it's cold, ut settles down when it warms up. I like that it bounces though, s it seems so nostalgic, nd mechanical.
The interior appears very original. The carpets are very nice, eats are original and very nice, ut could be improved with re-padding and re-covering. Headliner is original, nd could stand to be replaced, ut I hesitate to change what appears original. The exterior paint appears to have had some re-finishing at some point, nd looks great. There are only threevery small rust spots on the body, ne under the front windshield seal on the driver's side, ne under the rear window seal on the driver's side, nd one under the headlight bucket on the passenger side.
This car gets admiring looks and nods of approval everywhere it's driven. It really is a testament to the quality of automobile Porsche was producing in the early 70's. Service records since 2008 show new muffler, ew windshield, ebuilt fuel pump, uel tank removed, leaned and relined, eplaced fuel filter and lines, alve adjustment, urbo valve covers, ebuilt distributor, new spark plugs, ebuilt alternator, ew fan belt, ubber engine compartment seal, nd more.
Car has only traveled 4k miles since this work was completed. I have driven many 911's over the years, nd I can tell you this car drives and handles exceptionally well. It is very well sorted, nd can be driven and enjoyed straight away. No fettling needed. I recently added a set of high quality "Coco Mats" to compliment the interior and add to the "70's" look and feel.
This car is also being sold locally and is subject to sale.
