Matching numbers (Chassis 218646 Engine 713955); Original Bill of Sale from Dealer, riginal Service Book with service stamps beginning Oct 1964, riginal keys, riginal Owners Manual, ome original tools, tc.; Daily driver; Engine runs well; Pressure plate needs to be replaced; Small paint chips; No rust based upon on-ground visual inspection; Chrome trim has oxidation - will need to be removed and treated for a "concours" restoration; Body-off repaint in original Signal Red in 1980s under original owner (have color print photos of the work in progress); Purchased from widow of original owner in 2001; Garage kept under cover in dry climate. 21,814 original miles - clearly documented from the date of delivery in an amazing original owner's handwritten fuel log beginning on the day of pick up at the dealer; Please Note: Apparently when the body-off repaint was done in the 1980s, he floor boards were replaced with welded panels - not a continuous sheet. I have been told that a "purist" will want to replace those welded panels with a continuous sheet; No radio - factory installed "Porsche" panel covers slot - a cool original featureOn Feb-01-16 at 04:25:29 PST, eller added the following information:If I were to keep the car, would pursue all of the following repairs + improvements:1) Have the pressure plate replaced in the transmission (I have been quoted ~ $1000 to $1500 by a well-respected 356 repair shop here in Colorado Springs) - this isnecessary.2) Tighten/adjust the drivers' seat - some of the framing is loose.3) Replace the underfloor from the current welded panels to a continuous metal sheet (I have been quoted ~ $2000 by a different, ell-respected 356 rebuild shop here north of Colorado Springs)4) Have both front seats recovered in new, igh quality black leather - not necessary, ut would be a nice aesthetic upgrade.
> My 17 year old son wants me to hold onto the car, ake the above investments, nd hold onto the car so he can inherit it!! :)
