Description for Porsche 356 1960
This is a very nice 1960 356B in daily driver condition. I have enjoyed this beauty for going on 8 years but I don't drive it nearly enough so I'd like to find a good home for it. The car is aquamarine exterior with red interior. It is listed on the Porsche registry and all numbers match. The car has had a fair amount of nice restoration including German weave carpet. interior and exterior (engine/front boot) rehab. The paint is very passable but does have some small front rock pits. The interior is quite nice with no rips/tears. As with any car of this vintage. it has a few flaws. These are the known issues:* very small amount of rust in the battery box that is difficult to be seen in a photo. A visual inspection is best. *there is no 1st gear synchro so downshifting from 2nd to 1st I do at a near stop. It's not a problem for me but if I were to keep it. I'd have that fixed. *speedo works but odometer does not so actual original mileage is unknown. I didn't really care when I bought it. *the tach likes to make a little noise once in a while but easily fixed. *it seeps a very small amount of oil but consistent and certainly not unusual given its age. *car tends to idle a bit higher than I'd like but I have been resistant to change the carbs as I prefer the original Solex carbs. Tinker with it. You can likely fix with a little effort. *the hood needs some straightening as the last owner "twisted" the hood just a little bit. You can see some line separation in one of the pictures if you look closely. Certainly its not a huge problem and I'm quite fussy about my vehicles. It does not detract from the beauty of the car in the least. I have described the car as best I can but seeing is believing. I encourage you to examine the vehicle closely prior to purchase as I want the next owner to be happy with the purchase. Should you want to complete the restoration you'll not find a better candidate. I am always available to answer questions about the car and if you'd like more pics. just let me know and I'd be happy to send more. I am willing to assist with shipping to any location however US/domestic buyers only please. If you are the successful bidder. I prefer $1000 deposit within 24 hours of auction end with full payment via wire transfer (US funds) within 48 hours. Thank you for your interest and cheers for a happy new year.
