The current condition of this 914-6:
Exterior: The tangerine color is very shiny and radiant. There are no scratches, chips, or dents. However, there are some flaws here and there in the paint that are only visible from very close range. The chrome bumpers and the dark rockers are flawless. The top is in a close to perfect shape as well.
Interior: Fully restored and absolutely immaculate.
Underside: The driver floor pan needs to be replaced as there are two rust spots. Also, there is a rust spot in the passenger side wheel well by the rocker.
Mechanics: The engine runs strong but there are several oil leaks that need to be addressed. The transmission is solid and the car shifts with ease.
The rest: The engine and the engine bay are super clean, as are both front and rear compartment areas.
With some restoration work, this 914-6 has all the right ingredients to be a collectors dream. The market continues to stay very strong on these 6 cylinder beauties, and a stock, fully restored examples sell for $100,000 plus.
