Special order paint L 96 Alaska Blue Metallic
First owner had it for many years and then parked it. It was sold to the second owner who was a father and son team who wanted a project. So they bought the car with little mechanical knowledge and took the engine out and took the fuel injection off and from there did not do much. Thank goodness..
The 3rd owned whom we acquired the car from is a long time Porsche enthusiast. He put the engine back together and did some other things. He got the car 'running'....
After we took possession of the car we drove it and realized it was quite up to snuff... So off to the mechanic it went. He pulled the engine and went through it and installed new head gaskets, did a 3 time valve adjustment, complete service, installed new heating hose, tuned the fuel injection. Installed new shifter bushing throughout the shifter assembly. Re painted some of the sheet metal and replaced oil return tubes and gave everything a once over. He also inspected the 'hell hole' and found it to be in good condition with some minor surface rust so he cleaned it and applied POR15 so it will be good for many years to come. There were many other things he did but no need to go on...
He inspected the structure of the car and reported it to be very nice. This car always lived on the central coast of California in and around San Luis Obispo where it is dry and warm. So this is a rare example of a nice original pan914, complete with the cool early white and blue Cali plate..
Got love the period correct LaCarera wood steering wheel that fits so well with the MOMO knob and lite weight Empi wheels!!
In closing this is a nice turn key car that you can jump in and go. I think the photos will tell the story, there is some room for cosmetic improvements. Maybe put a stereo in it to cruise around? Or just jump in and enjoy!!
