Description for Porsche 911 1993
I am listing this car for my uncle. He purchased the car in 1995 with 32k miles. He is the second owner of the car. The car had one minor accident with damage to the drivers side rear prior to him purchasing the car. The repairs were completed at a Porsche dealership local to the original owner. My father, who has extensive experience with Porsche cars, had inspected the car for my uncle at the time of purchase and was unable to find any actual evidence of the accident(read, it was properly repaired and obviously very minor). The AC works as it should as well as all the other features besides the CD changer. It has its original Blaupunkt radio. The car has been very well maintained and cared for since new and has traveled only 52k miles in the last 21 years. In general the car is in excellent condition. The option codes are displayed in one of the photos below.
Below is a list of recent work which was all performed in the last 2 years.
Crankcase Replaced all externally accessible oil seals and gaskets associated with the crankcase. This includes but is not limited to seals and gaskets associated with the following: oil pressure sender, oil temp sender, oil breather console, oil line to tank, oil line from tank, oil line from thermostat to crankcase, valve cover, distributor. Replaced main oil line from thermostat to crankcase. Replaced oil line from crankcase to oil tank.
Fuel SystemRemoved and cleaned throttle body. Removed and cleaned both intake towers. Removed and cleaned intake plenum. Removed and cleaned mass air flow unit. Lubricated throttle butterfly. Removed and cleaned idle stabilizer control valve.
IgnitionRemoved and checked all spark plugs. Removed and cleaned distributor caps. Treated plug wires with dielectric lubricant. Reset OBD1 system memory.
Exhaust Removed entire exhaust system and replaced all rusted broken or non existent hardware with the exception of the catalytic converter to cross pipe junction. Cleaned all stainless steal exhaust components. Removed and cleaned heat exchangers inside and out.
TransaxleReplaced clutch and all parts included in the "Super Clutch Kit" from pelican parts. Brakes Rotors, pads, and sensors all replaced. Tires Two tires just replaced and the other two are have a lot of life left hence the decision not to replace them all.
In 2012 the following parts were replaced.AxlesSecondary distributer drive beltBeltsHVAC air distribution servo
Known issues.Speedo occasionally will not function but will start working with a light tap on the dash. It also has some cracks in the painted backing which is only noticeable at night with the dash lights on. The CD changer is not working. It was look at in 2012 and it was determined that it needs a new cable. One of the brake sensors is either bad or not seated. The pad wear light is on but the brakes were recently replaced. Engine belly pan section missing due to since proven myth that the car benefits from it being removed. Small section (about 3 inches) of the white piping is worn on the drivers side seat bolster. I think there is one very small door ding someplace although I was not able to find it while photographing the car.
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to schedule a time to see the car.
