Description for Porsche 914 1974
Rare Creamsicle LE 914. I recently bought this from the second owner who has owned it since 1976. And the only reason they sold it was because they were getting to old to get in it.The first owner bought it at Leroy Cannon Porsche here in Greenville Sc in 1974 and traded it in at the same dealership in 1976 where the 2nd owner purchased it in 1976. I have the original manual with the sales slip and service records where it was serviced at the same dealership thru 76. The second owner owned his own shop and the car was bought for his wife so he did all the service work. It has always been kept in the garage under cover and hasn't seen rain in 20 years. There is no service records since 76 but the car has never needed anything but its basic maintenance which was done. I do have registration records .The motor was dropped for a repaint and the clutch was replaced at that time. Also the car was converted to a duel weber set up only because the owner liked the idea of having webers and all the fuel injection parts come with the car and can easily be converted back. The car was painted a lighter shade of cream/ivory. Also acenter rear lense kit was added to the car.The motor isthe numbers matching original 2.0 and runsperfect. The 66k miles on the odare correct. In fact the car is probably one of the cleanest non restored cars that you could ever hope to find. The only rust,if you could find any,on the car is surface and would be inline what you would expect with the history of the car. The headlight buckets have zero rust and the hell hole if any is negligible. There is acrack in the dash I tried to get in the picture and one of the taillights has a crack in it. As for as the CanAm LE stuff. The front spoiler was replaced with an after market one. The cars bumpers and rockers was sprayed black at the dealership. There was talk of this happening and this car is proof that it did. I spoke to the first owner and he did verify he bought the car with the bumpers painted. There are some very small chips where you can see the orange underneath. Also the sail panels either did come from the factory with the black vinyl or was added at the dealership before it was sold. It comes with the fuchs but I also have a non painted set of Maules that were correct for the car. Most of everything that makes a 914LE has been changed on this car but it can be put back. The previous owner and his wife enjoyed this car for 40 yearsand put there personal touches onit and I am sure they wouldn't have done it any different.
