This is the infamous "ARTCAR" as featured in the November 2016 Panorama magazine.A 1994 968 coupe with tiptronic transmission.
Artists depicted on the car: Mondrian, Modigliani, Picasso, Max, Lichtenstein, Lennon, Pollack, Patton, Green, Ahani, Calder, Warhol, Michelangelo and, of course, John, the genius.
Interior: The gray interior is in excellent condition except that it has signatures on doors, headliner and dash of people who contributed to its creation.Mechanical: Excellent inasmuch as its legendary owner was its caretaker.Wheels and tires: Wheels a joke, tires high end with a lot of life left. (Note: the orange wheels are gone. See 10 spoke 18s)Cosmetics: You be the judge.Items that need attention or repair. Odo not working.Battery: New with 5 year warranty.Documentation: Large file of service/repair docs including the legend of its creation.Photos: More to follow or we will e them to you.Reason for sale: One partner has a new project in the works and needs space and $. One partner has tons of space but needsmoney. Both partners want to discontinue driving the car even though it is tons of fun to tell its story at every gas station and every parking space. We think the car should be enjoyed in a collection or converted into a track car. Jim would have agreed. Our guilt at selling the car isoffset bythe notion that in a collection or on the track would make it and Jim much happier.
