Everything is stock (except the stereo), all functions/lights work. Well maintained and adult owned.Vehicle History:• Originally purchased in Houston, TX. I have all the original receipts from the 1st owner. The repairs were normal (brake lights, fuel gauge sender Unit, spoiler sensor). The only large repair was the Fuel Tank and the extension hose which was $1391 in 1993 when the car had 20,499 miles on it. In all the receipts, it states “Customer requests DO NOT TEST DRIVE CAR”. That’s a good sign! He kept the car until mid-1994 and sold it with 21,243 miles on the odometer.
• The 2nd owner purchased the car and shipped it to Highland Park, IL. I have the receipts from that owner too. The only repair was to replace the timing cover seal and gasket ($827 in 1995).
• The 3rd owner purchased the car in 1996 with 36,744 miles on it. This is who I bought the car from. He is a HUGE Porsche nut and knew all the in’s and out’s of the car. He also did the majority of the maintenance/repairs on the car. He was meticulous about all of the receipts and provided all of them when I purchased the car. At one point, he had to move out of state and his wife said the Porsche needed to go. So, he sold it to a high-end used car shop that briefly sold the car to a 4th owner. I don’t have any record of this sale but the owner only had if for a short while and traded it back to the dealer for a Jaguar. When the 3rd owner moved back to Boston, the dealer let him know the 911 was back so the 3rd owner became the 5th owner! Here are some of the work had had performed from 1996-2005:1. Replace horn, oil regulator, window regulators, hood struts, side mirror motors, sunroof motor, Cruise Control unit. (2001)2. Replaced the Sunroof cables and guides with the factory updated model. (2001)3. 60k maintenance, new valve covers, new distributor cap. (2001)4. Replace oil lines that were leaking (2002)5. Convert AC to R134A (2003) The owner told me he had the car parked at the airport during 9/11. The airport towed all cars that were in the garage and they didn’t put the car on a flatbed (big no-no with AWD cars). He had the engine and transmission removed and repaired (1st and 2nd gears and reverse were damaged) which was covered by his insurance. The dual mass flywheel was inspected during this time as well and it passed.
• I purchased the car in 2005 when I was working in Boston and drove it back to PA where it’s been for 12 years. I have had only minor repairs done to the car. I have taken it to multiple Porsche specialist shops in the area and they all comment on how clean the car is. It has been a garage queen since I’ve owned it. I make sure to start it up and get the fluids up to temp every few months and we take it out for date nights or if we have a weekend getaway. It starts up every time and has no problems driving around town or on the highway. Some of the work I’ve had done on the car are as follows:1. Replace the battery and added trickle charger pigtail.2. New stereo and speakers (with hidden iPod connector in the ashtray)3. Windshield removed to repair paint that was bubbling on the windshield pillars. (common problem with 964’s)4. Replaced sunroof rails5. Replace AC switches that were worn6. Replace power window switches7. Brake fluid flush8. Replace fuel tank gasket9. Regular maintenance
Additional Note: As with all 964 Porsche’s, this car has the usual oil leaks. The previous owner had many of them repaired when the engine was removed in 2001. Over time, the oil leaks have returned (mostly from the valve cover gasket and oil return tubes). My mechanic does not recommend repairing the leaks unless the engine ever needs to be removed again. In 12 years and 15k miles the leaks have not gotten worse. The tires wear on the inside faster than the outside. The tires have plenty of tread left but you do get some tire noise at highway speed. Because I drive the car less than 1k a year, I haven’t bothered to replace them. Also, the car sits on carpet in the garage to avoid flat spots in the tires. There are a few paint scratches (see photos). They are hardly noticeable unless you're very close. I will provide all documentation with the car. The original spare tire, jack, and inflator is included in the trunk. I have a car cover that I’ll include with the sale. The car currently has Antique PA plates.
Please email any questions. The car is available for view in Exton, PA.
