For sale, an absolutely pristine 1985 Porsche Carrera convertible. Finished fresh in Porsche Guards Red over black interior. 3.2 liter mated to a 5-speed manual. These cars have risen in value and while they may not go much higher, this like other air-cooled will retain their value over the years. This car is PCA member owned. This era of production is now considered one of Porsche's best- reliability along with low cost maintenance. Engines and transmissions last and last.
The car odometer shows 80,000 but actual mileage is showing closer to 124,000 according to Carfax. The pricing for similar cars in this condition according to Hagerty valuation ranges from $29,400 condition #3 to $47,000 condition #2. This car shows very little wear. Insurance appraisal was $40,000. This car is priced right at $36,500.
The car was repainted within the past 3 three years by the previous owner, front seat covers replaced, new carpet, wind shield, rubber door and window seals. The convertible top is new. Original jack and tools are included. Electric windows operate normally. All gauges work. Currently running 5w40 Liqui Moly ( German brand oil ). Starts, idles, shifts and drives straight. There is an aftermarket stereo/CD player with the car.The car started out as a Targa, but with the refurbishing was professionally converted to a cabriolet. The outcome is exact to factory specs- convertible top and tonneau cover fit snug.
The car is in excellent mechanical condition. Was recently driven to the Porsche Parade in Spokane, then to Seattle and back to Boise without any issue.There is some oil drip, but with the 1200 mile drive north, a half liter was added.The only recommendation would eventually be new tires.
