Up for auction is a very straight and original 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera. This car sold new at Delta Imports in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 1, 1985. The car spent the first 18 years of its life in the Midwest before being brought out West to Washington State in 2003. The car has 145,392 original miles and shows very well for its age. The interior is very clean and is in excellent condition. The dash is 100% blemish free and is virtually perfect without even the slightest crack or distortion in shape. The seats do not have any cracking in the leather and all of the seams are entirely intact with no separations. The headliner is brand new and was professionally installed, including the removal of the rear window glass to ensure proper installation. The carpets are very clean with no stains or cigarette burns anywhere. The passenger side carpet runner is missing, but an original Porsche floor mat still remains on that side covering the floor pan. The door panels are in great shape and do not have any major fading or cracking, but they do have a few common scratches near the door handle areas. An aftermarket pioneer stereo was installed but the original door panel speaker holes were not tampered with and the original square speaker grilles still remain in the car. The body of this car is extremely straight and does not have one single door ding or dent. The car has never been in an accident and can be verified through the Carfax report. All of the gaps in the doors, hood, and rear engine hatch are perfect without any misalignment. All of these panels open and close like a new car. The gas struts under the hood and engine compartment have lost their charge, so they do not hold the hood or engine hatch open on their own anymore. The paint on this car shows very well with a deep, swirl-free shine but does have several blemish areas. The clear coat has began to fade on the roof near the sunroof opening as pictured, and there are several areas where the paint has began to bubble from surface rust beginning underneath. The only rust areas throughout the car are at the bottoms of the front fenders where they meet the rocker panels, the headlight area of the driver's front fender, a very minuscule spot of rust on the driver's rocker panel, and a few small spots of rust inside the door jambs. All of these areas have been pictured. The door bottoms, body pans, strut towers, and engine bay are completely solid and 100% rust free. The undercarriage is very dry and still retains the original Porsche protective coating throughout the unibody. The suspension components are very clean and rust free. At some time nylon rear torsion bar bushings were installed, so there is a bit of creaking coming from the torsion bar as these bushings are very hard and not very pliable. The bottom of the crank case is extremely clean with no major buildup or grime. All of the factory original decals remain on the car inside the door jambs, under the hood, and inside the engine compartment. The car runs and drives very well. The clutch engages smoothly and the 5 speed manual transmission goes in and out of gear as it should with no pop outs when accelerating. The AC system still has the original R-12 fittings, so it will need to be converted and charged. The original Fuchs wheels are in excellent condition aside from one minor scrape on the driver's front wheel lip. The tires are nearly brand new. The windshield is brand new and does not have one chip or pit in the glass. This is an excellent candidate for mild restoration project or would make for a great daily driver. LOW RESERVE PRICE.
