Description for Porsche 356 1962
I found this car in Scottsdale AZ in 2007. It needed a new paint and interior. Replaced the battery tray and head liner. BELOW is the information from the PREVIOUS OWNER............................................... I have owned the car for 18 years. It is my 4th 356. I bought it from an agent selling it for the original owner. It was shipped to California from the factory and stayed in southern CA until I moved here last year. I have $20,000 in receipts. I have refinished or OEM replaced almost every part on the car. It was originally midnight blue and the agent painted it red. I had the red retouched about 12 years ago. From 2 feet away the car looks showroom. Up close you can find some checking and minor flaws. I was just getting ready to strip it to metal and paint it. I had collected most of the rubber and finishing parts. Started the interior refurbishing. I redid the steering, complete suspension (steering box, control arms, bushings, wheel bearings, hubs). Brakes were redone to original specs, like the rest of the car, 1962 still had drum all the way around. That is why I replaced hubs and every other component of the braking system including the master cylinder. Original rims. Two of the rims show minor pitting. It is one of the tightest and best running 356 that you will ever drive. The engine restoration was painted and concours detailed. It was well worth it. You have to look at the receipts to see the engine work. (See the above receipt picture) The pan is rust free and straight. It does need a replacement battery tray, Best regards: XXXX................................................................................... As you can see from the picture receipt the engine was rebuilt by Markham Motors in Burbank CA. This is the reason I purchased it in 2007. Larry Markham is a master of 356 service and repair.
