Up for sale is a Porsche 959/356 tribute. These were built as a mesh between the two, and the kits were called the 359 and created by CMC Classic Motor Carriages). This kit was built in the 90s and was only driven about 463 miles since completed. I have the original build manual from CMC, all the receipts showing about $15000 in total receipts! Although it sat for some time, it runs excellent and you can get in and it starts on the frist crank! The exterior of the car is the original gel coat finish. It polishes out pretty decent but does not look like a brand new car. The car was barely used and kept in a garage but father time leaves no one or thing untouched. Looks just like the photos. Has a few small stress cracks you will notice near the bumper vents from age. All said, it still looks very good in my opinion and people have actually taken photos of this car while I was driving it but don't expect new. Would rate about a 7 out of 10. Does not have a convertible top, so it is a sunny day car! Has factory CMC wheels that came with the car in the 90s.
The interior is in excellent shape. Carpeting and seats still look brand new. Has a 3rd seat that goes under the removable tonneau cover in the back (bolts in). All gauges were new at time of build and look good and all work! All signal works and lights. Radio is a fairly modern removable faceplate with line in and speaker box in back. Has nice set of seats belts and all the chrome and trim around the interior including the door panels all in very good shape. Has a Scat Pack trigger shifter that still looks new.
Mechanically, the car runs and drives very well. A 1971 bug floor pan was used in the original build and this has a clear title. The engine used was a 1641cc built by a local bug shop back in the 90s. It still runs perfectly. Has a brand new set of Dual Solex Carburators which I have the receipt for also put on when new. Still the engine runs excellent! Transmission shift excellent with no grinding or syncro issues. Brakes in good shape with a good pedal. Tires have less than 500 miles but are older, should be ok for driving the local streets but not so much on the freeway. I have all the receipts for this car totaling over 15k and original construction manual. Has everything from the body and all other purchases for this car!
