Description for Porsche 911 1978
This project started out with a sweet original California blue plate 78 SC coupe with 109K miles (sold new at Carlsen Porsche/Palo Alto) with a tired motor. This 911 was wearing a quality older glass out repaint in its original Blue Metalic, but still presentable. With all the prime trinkets I have stashed away over the years I decided to invest them in this very solid chassis. With the help of Patrick Motor Sports in Phoenix AZ we completely transformed the soul of this sweet 911 into a formidable beast that could of came this way from Stuttgart. We prepped & installed a 94 964 3.6L engine with less than 23K original miles correctly for a G series car including SSI's & Sport Muffler, a 86 915 big flange 5 speed LSD (completely rebuilt), complete Carrera oil tank/fender mounted oil cooler with fan, Carrera suspension & Turbo axles, Carrera brakes...... And all the small parts in between to make a factory worthy installation. No boy racer aftermarket crap on this SC, just pure Porsche!! This car is ready for the new owner to finish as he/she desires. It would be a perfect candidate for a back date, or simply clean up a few things & apply fresh paint to your liking. I put on a very nice set of original finish 16" Fuch alloys, in the most desirable of widths.... 7" & 9".... with fresh Michelin rubber 205/55 & 245/45 ZR rated tires, European headlights, a very nice Carrera front valence, with new amber fog light lens. I took some serious time & more than a few rear valances to fabricate a continuous rear valance with very precisely relieved for twin sport tips. Car is aligned, and ride height set to perfection. Very comfortable firm ride that wont loosen your teeth & sounds like a big displacement beast blasting down the road, Interior can be finished to your tastes, restored correct 1978 Sport Seats and a thick Carrera 3 spoke steering wheel, factory short shift with 917 Balsa shift knob & rebuilt pedal cluster all combine perfectly to connect the driver to Porsche (oh yea, new factory seat belts too). A cleaner 3.6L conversion is not to be found, the technicians at PMS know there shit. Everything works as it should, down to interior lights, Carrera 180 MPH speedometer installed with correct miles for engine. Air conditioning has been partially removed but included in sale, all lines intact. Engine built with provision for Carrera 3.2L A/C compressor (included) And yes, spare, jack, tools, original warranty book & manuals all present. I have decided to part ways with this cool SC only to make room for another project. If you are hip to these cars and parts you will know the cost to duplicate the drive train alone, and good luck finding a virgin low mile 964 3.6L..... I have valued this 911 accordingly. Clean California title in my name, currently on PNO. All receipts available. Inspections welcome, car is located in Sonoma, Ca. Cheers !!!Please contact me for more information, I will get the car up on the rack this week for some pics, I also have some videos I can send out.
