Description for Porsche 356 1963
1963 Porsche 356B Rubi Red 1600 “S”
Mileage: 39952
VIN#213343
Engine# 705758

This car was purchased Brand New in Minneapolis on the 6thMay 1963 by James G Riley. This car is supplied with factory Porsche Kardex Warranty paperwork confirming the #’s matching Motor & Transmission are still present and fitted to the car. It has not been color changed, it still retains its 1963 color of Rubi Red albeit a re-paint or two in the past, the interior is also black and original specification to the car.
The motor is in good running condition, please watch the attached video, it sounds great. The exterior of the car represents very well, body is straight and paint shines well. Panel gaps are good, and represent this 1963 example very well. The interior is lovely, seats are in superb condition, complimented by the carpet and dash dials – it looks very nice indeed.
Headliner is fabulous, no sagging here, just as Porsche intended. Wheels are the correct wider “S” versions with clean hubcaps and good tires. In the front trunk it looks all original, correct 6-volt battery is present and starts the car just fine. No rust to speak off, would make a great daily or weekend show and shine vehicle.
In short, this car has spent its life in Minneapolis, and is still on the correlating Title. It has been garaged when not being used, and it shows. Before we purchased the car, the previous owner had just started some recommissioning works from the car being unused for some years. The car was to much for the older owner to manage, hence the sale to us. The car in his ownership has received localised floor repairs over the years, presentation of the floor still looks well underneath.
This car is in great shape, a very unique opportunity to acquire a 356 “Super” in the very desirable Rubi Red. This is a car you could use with very little recommissioning works, and enjoy as is, or improve at your leisure.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out, the mileage is indicated at 39,952 but we feel this has to be another time around. There is a small ding in the driver’s rear quarter that is very hard to see but have included an image of this area, the transmission does have a small fault and sometimes suffers from selection of gears. This is a 56-year-old car, so please, if you have never owned a classic car – don’t expect a new Honda! This is definitely a car for the DIY enthusiast, with little work this 356 will be a great opportunity for someone to own an appreciating classic. The hood release handle and some miscellaneous parts will need some TLC,but this car is priced accordingly.
