Description for Porsche 911 1970
1970 Porsche 911 CARRERA RS 3.2L Tribute 5 Speed Manual lightweight CoupeThis 1970 Porsche 911 is an RS-inspired long-hood coupe equipped with the 3.2-liter flat-six, five-speed gearbox, suspension, and brakes from a 1980's Carrera. Finished in Ferrari Yellow with blue accents, the car was acquired by the previous owner in the early 1980s and built over a 25-year period from 1980-2010. Additional features include 15″ Fuchs wheels, a full four-point roll bar, stainless steel oversized muffler, a MOMO steering wheel, Koni Porsche racing seats, and Carrera 3.2 oil cooler, and more!
This Tribute 911 CARRERA RS 3.2 TRIBUTE is an unmatched thoroughbred ... Light weight and loads of power make this RS TRIBUTE, built decades ago from a 911T and performance upgraded throughout, makes this RS tribute car one of the most nimble-feeling 911s ever built. The upgraded 1973 911 3.2 flat-six engine will rev high without a hint of strain. The milage on the engine is low, about 500 miles used primarily for track. Thespeedometer milage is from the old original engine and neveraltered when the 3.2 was installed decades ago. At low speeds, it's easily controllable and it's sharp throttle response is matched by a stiff chassis, precise steering and large "upgraded" brakes. Although the ride is firm, bilstein shocks & struts, it never feels uncomfortable. In all respects, this RS tribute, though an unmatched thoroughbred, is just as usable, on the street or track, as any other 911.
The classic Carrera RS has a cult status among Porsche fans. Many consider it to be the most satisfying of the breed to drive.Thinner steel and fewer creature comforts give the car true lightweight status.
Uprated engine: The classic flat six look similar on the outside but features top pistons and improved mechanical fuel injection to produce extra power. This 911 CARRERA TRIBUTE had it's engine UPGRADED for racing to a 3.2. It revs strongly and feels powerful.
Wider wheels: To fill the flared wheel arches, this RS has wide wheels than standard ( 7 inches at the front, 8 inches at the rear)
Rear "duck-tail" spoiler: The engine cover of the RS features a Burzel fiberglass rear spoiler designed to reduce tail-end lift at high speeds. A front spoiler is also used, which greatly improves stability.
Weight pairing: The RS is gutted down inside so it weighs less for racing, however, the car is 100% street legal and "turns heads" when out on the highway. I can't tell you how many people give me the "thumbs-up" and "praise' when thy see this "spine-tingler" on the road!
Stripped interior: The cabin of this RS tribute car is stripped to the bare essentials for fast road driving, radio, air-conditioner, rugs, padding, have been removed and racing-seats installed. The dash is stock 911 with an upgraded steering wheel, and much has been deleted from the interior to reduce weight.
NO RUST! The car is rust free, the recentlyBodySchutzprovides an extremely durable coating on the sheetmetalundercarriage.
BEST way to buy this rare car is to see it yourself, drive it, experience the magic this 911 Carrera Tribute has to offer!
