Description for Porsche 911 1984

"M491 Slicktop" This 1984 Porsche 911 is a Turbo-Look coupe that is finished in Pewter Metallic over Dark Blue leather and shows 81k miles. It was delivered new in the US and left the factory optioned with sport seats and a limited-slip differential, but without a sunroof. Power is provided by the numbers-matching 3.2-liter flat-six, which is paired with the original 5-speed manual transaxle. Notable service under previous ownership included overhauls of the engine and gearbox in 2013, as well... as the addition of an under-car A/C condenser and an R134 conversion. This car is one of only 421 coupes with the M491 Turbo-Look package to come to North America in 1984. The widebody M491 cars feature Turbo suspension and brakes, as well as deleted rear deck lid badging. A larger A/C condenser has been installed below the car, and a replacement A/C compressor was added just prior to the seller's acquisition. A modern Alpine stereo replaces the factory Blaupunkt unit. Instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer and a 6-digit odometer showing just under 81k miles. The 3.2-liter flat-six was overhauled approximately 3,300 miles ago in 2013, at which point it received new rod bearings, piston rings, valve guides, gaskets, and more. All six fuel injectors were rebuilt and flow tested during the engine work, and a number of engine compartment components were re-plated. Service records date back to 2002 and include receipts showing $15k for the engine and transmission, as well as other work, performed in 2012 and 2013. The 915 transaxle features a factory limited-slip differential and was also rebuilt in 2013 with a new synchro, two new shift sleeves, and fresh seals. Stamping *64E03590* matches the Porsche CoA, confirming engine originality. Transaxle stamping 74E10309 also matches the CoA. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity displays the factory colors and options, as well as a production completion date of March 9, 1984. A binder containing the ownership history and service records is included along with the original Blaupunkt stereo, workshop manuals, glove compartment books, factory tool kit and jack, and a spare.
