Description for Porsche 924 1981

A True Sunny Arizona "Field Find".I purchased this 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo along with a 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo from a person who was thinking about building one car from the two. Although I received a clear title for the '80 I did not get a title for this 1981.Therefore I undertook the task of going through all of the proper channels, having an Arizona Level One Inspection performed by local Law Enforcement Officers which included a stolen vehicle check, wrote certified letters to any possible interested parties in an effort to obtain title, provided the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department with all supporting documentation, exhausted all leads, obtained permission to purchase a bond and finally upon presentation of bond obtained a Clear Arizona Title!Note that the title states 23,198 Box A miles. The car originally had a Texas title prior to ending up in Arizona and records show that the last time a title was issued was on 7/19/1984 when the car had 18,148 miles on it. The last tag on the license plate indicates an expiration of 3/90.
The car will require a complete restoration as it has been sitting for at least 30 years. The engine had various bits taken off of it but for the most part they are with the car. The timing belt was off the pulleys and although I was able to move the camshaft as much as I dare, I was unable to move the crankshaft by using a responsible amount of force. I should note that the number one spark plug was not installed and there was a ton of s*** down the hole. Moisture too possibly, I don't know and won't unless I remove the cylinder head. I should also note that part of the exhaust was also in the process of being disconnected, but the car couldn't tell me why.On the very big PLUS side, this car is extremely solid and virtually rust free. Certain aspects lead me to think that the mileage is indeed actual especially when looking underneath the car. The hard fuel lines look very nice for instance as do the rubber bushings that I looked at. And the floor and "frame" rails look very good to excellent. Look at the photos and make your own judgement. The interior needs virtually everything but that should be expected. The left mirror, door handle and rear side window are compromised. It does have a pretty nifty period correct Kenwood stereo and amp though! I do have one key. No books or records. The rear bumper is removed but comes with the car!Ask questions, ask questions ask questions! Want more photos, I'll try to accommodate you!Caution, serious inquiries only, please!!!NO RESERVE!!!
