Description for Porsche 914 1973

You're looking at my 1973 Porsche 914-4 GT project. I originally bought this car to drop a 2.2 flat 6 in it, but I've decided to focus on a few other cars in my collection and am putting this up for sale with a low starting bid of only $5,000 with NO RESERVE.
*** I will also entertain reasonable offers to end the listing early.

The car was originally the very cool and retro factory color "Signal Orange" (L-20-E paint code) as you can see in the pics. Door gaps and body lines are good. Overall this is a pretty solid example, with minimal rust in the usual places. The "hell hole" isn't bad at all. The floors are solid with some rust along a few seams etc, but I believe they can be saved/repaired rather than replaced. Front suspension pan overall is nice and solid (some corrosion inside trunk). Longitudinals aren't compromised and the doors don't sag. All glass is in good shape. The missing chrome windshield trim in the pics is actually in the front trunk. Rear deck lid needs the hinges/springs adjusted (sitting a little high). The deck lid was not fully closed/latched when these pics were taken.

The interior needs a refresh but the original door panels are in decent condition. Obviously the original seat covers need redone, but the seats otherwise are in good shape. Dash has typical cracks. Carpet needs replaced. Comes with a painted Targa top. Driver's side mirror is missing.

The car has its original 1.8 flat 4 cylinder engine and manual tranny. It was running off an auxiliary gas can a little while back, but has been sitting in dry storage and I haven't messed with it. I don't think it will take much to get it running and on the road again. I just don't have the space or time now to make the car what I had envisioned originally. The car rolls and steers, but calipers are hanging up a little. Tires need replaced as these are just on to roll the car around. Gauge cluster is removed and needs hooked back up, but is included. Flares are fiberglass but done well with almost undetectable seams. Front turn signals have been removed and glassed over.

If I didn't have 10 cars, not enough extra space since a recent move, and had more time on my hands, I wouldn't be selling this! It's a very cool car and with a little work will make a heck of a fun toy!

Clean clear South Carolina title, in my name, is in my possession. Car is located in Conway, SC just outside Myrtle Beach. This is a NO RESERVE auction and the last bid wins! I will gladly sell to overseas bidders. Good luck!
*** Winning bidder must submit a $500 deposit immediately following the auction so I know you're a serious buyer. The remaining balance is to be paid within 3 business days by bank wire. No exceptions.

Ask any and all questions PRIOR to bidding. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. Please do not bid if you have no intention of following thru with the purchase. It not only wastes time and money with relisting fees, but it causes legitimate buyers to miss out on opportunities.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
