Description for Renault Alliance 1987
Last year of the joint venture between American Motors Corp. and the French automaker Renault.1987 Renault Alliance 1.7L Convertible. Fairly hard to find in this year and engine configuration.
Clean title, 132k miles, current California registration, California SMOG ready, overall in very good shape, 1.7 liter 4 cylinder engine, 5-speed manual transmission.
Runs and drives very good. I drive it locally during some of the weekends, so mileage might slightly increase.
The body is solid, no rust, paint looks to be original, slightly faded, shows some scratches but nothing bad. Small denton the top of the hood, front-left corner at the bumper slightly scratched, everything lines up nicely, rear bumper shows some scratches and a bit warpage where it meets the body. Nothing crazy bad, but noticeable from up close.
Interior is in great shape, seats are still very soft, driver seat bottom has one seam coming apart. Original radio works, electric top works, all lights and turn signals work, all gauges work. Front seats are manually adjustable and all 4 side windows are manually crank operable and they do work fine, no problems with the window regulators. The top is in good shape, no cuts or bad rips anywhere, the rear plastic window is still clear. The top does show some cracks in the double-seam stitching around the edges of the rear window and along the black area of its sides. It's mostly because how the top folds when it is being lowered, but everything is tight when the top is locked in place.
The car has cruise control system added from a previous Renault model and also an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
The complete fuel system of the car was rebuilt, the gas tank was removed and cleaned, fuel pump and fuel filter were replaced, fuel lines cleaned and injector o-rings replaced.
The car has anew battery, brand new tires, 13inch BBS-Mahle wheels, wheel studs were replaced with longer ARP studs to accommodate the thicker BBS wheels and also open-ended longer lug nuts. I only had a set of red lugs at the time, but I have also a set of regular chromed ones.Recent oil change was done along with oil filter, thetiming belt was checked and it is in great shape, closely inspected, does not show any cracks or issues. The timing bearings spin freely with no apparent noise.Interior was cleaned and a brand new carpet (black) was installed. The carpet was purchasednew from Auto Custom Carpets Inc.
Owner's book plus 2x workshop manuals included along with 6 original steel rims with tires. 4 steel rims have regular tires, 2 have studded winter tires mounted.
The car is located in North Hollywood, CA 91605. It can be inspected anytime, just message me with questions or inquiries.
