Description for Renault Other 1970
HelloI am selling a 'One of' 1970 Renault Estafette van. History of the van. In 1970 it was purchased by Mr. Lopez in the Cher department of France where it was converted from a standart Estafette pick up into a (Vehicule Tres Special a Usages Divers) Very Special Vehicle with Diverse Use according to the paperwork I have. Mr. Lopez was selling Ice cream at fairs. events. In 1992 he sold it to Mr. Bonnin in the same area. the new owner used it also as an ice cream and crepe truck until he retired in 2011. He kept the Renault and finally decided to sell it when he lost indoor storage for it. The van still has the same license plate it had in 1970. I am the 3rd owner. A friend of mine living locally looked at the van for me and I ended up purchasing it. it looks so cool and has so much room inside. I purchased it in May 2013 and finally in November 2013 it arrived here in Michigan in a container. My plan was to restore it into a coffee truck or pizza truck ( I have a small wood fired pizza oven made just for trucks). I started removing the old wood set up inside and the roll up doors that were very awkward to use and leaking water in the van. But unfortunately I have really lost interest in getting this project to completion. we already have 2 Hy vans at the house and that is more than enough for what we do. ( health issues and other interests)So I would like to find someone that could turn this one of Estafette into a little jewel of a market truck. ice cream truck. coffee truck or pizza truck. could be turned into a cool shop truck also or camper. Right now the van is on stands. the front engine/trans and subframe comes out very easily. I removed it to fix some rust spots. Overall the Estafette is very sturdy. rust is limited to the bottom of rear doors. rear wheel wells. a few spots along the bottom sides and front foot wells. repairs would be quite easy and fast for a pro. Engine was running when removed and brakes were working fine. Engine needs a good cleaning on the outside. I have also purchase and will include some parts to give it a tune up. The floor space in the rear is amazing. it measures 9 feet long. 5 feet wide. narrower where rear wheel wells are and the height is 73" so very easy to stand in it. My plan was to close up the driver side and make an opening on the passenger side as in a lot of Hy vans. I have a spare opening for a H van that can be included with the Estafette. I got it for that purpose. It would be the most unique van at any food truck rally or market. I know first hand how many customers are brought to my wife's H van coffee truck at the local markets. It would become a customer's magnet. The van would have to be towed. I can reinstall the front end. but it should be removed again to do a good job. cleaning. fixing and painting undercarriage. a skid could be strapped to front end to roll on a trailer. Starting with a blank canvass will allow you to built it/paint it as you like to serve your own needs. will not have to deal with French sellers and the "fun" of importing something unique like that from EuropeParts included:I have had the following parts sand blasted and powder coated: front and rear bumpers. 5 wheels. air cleaner and other smalls. front grill. headlight buckets. gas tank cover. strut tower covers. 5 brand new tires. driver seat cover new. passenger seat bottom redone. Radiator was re cored. gas tank cleaned and repainted. New silicones hoses for cooling system. new pertronix ignition. new wires. oil filters. belts. plugs. K&N air filter. condenser. distributor cap. rotor. New gaskets for doors. windshield ( 2 windshield glass included). windowsThere are also some used spare parts included. extra headlights. seals. I am selling it for less than the cost of the purchase in France. shipping to U. S. . customs and brokerage fees and new parts included. but I will get it finished if it does not sell. When you see the selling price of Citroen vans. I am sure that finished this would easily sell for over $20K and unlike the Citroens. there is only one of these ever made. Please contact me thru e-bay if you have any questions about the van. I can keep it inside for a few months if needed. this can be arranged upon completion of the deal. Being 44 years old. the Estafette is sold "as is. were is" with no warranty. I will include with the sale every technical info I downloaded for this van. The engine parts are easy to find since they match the R5 and R12.
