his Shadow was completed in August of 1976 and purchased new by John Middleton two months later as a standard saloon. Driven and enjoyed in this configuration for the first decade and a half of its existence, he decision was eventually made to turn the already luxurious and amply proportioned sedan into a true stretch limousine. Bisected at the B-pillar between the front and rear doors, n additional 60" (1524mm) of bodywork was inserted in the void. Into the space created by the vehicular surgery was fitted a rear facing bench mirroring the original seat in the back, full wet bar with decanters, lasses, nd a neatly hidden tap, TV, top of the line (for 1990) stereo system, nd storage for files and unmentionables. Finished in the color scheme of black with oatmeal hides—fewer than 66,000 original miles have been enjoyed in the car since new.
