When Angelo Markoulis (1926-2012) decided in late 1983 to reward himself for his extensive business achievements, e decided a specially constructed 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spur "Hooper St James" edition was the perfect choice.

He visited Spencer Pressler at the Cerrito Motor Coach Limited RR dealership in San Jose, A and together they generated order number RXL 8240.

Rolls Royce formally acknowledged the order on October 17, 983 and set in motion the creation of a very special "one-off" Silver Spur.

The fabled Hooper and Company Ltd had been absorbed by Rolls Royce circa 1970 and had become an in-house unit for special projects.

Their "St. James" edition was a tribute to their long time premises established circa 1896 on St. James Street in London.

Constructing this extraordinary Silver Spur required the better part of a year and the car was ultimately delivered to Mr. Markoulis on September 9, 984.

He drove the car sparingly over the first few years and the last repair order copy in the file dated April 27 1987 notes 1,335 miles covered. At this time the car was essentially put to sleep in the family estate's garage.

When we removed the car from its resting place a few months ago, he odometer read just over 1,500 miles. The special ordered 2011 Maybach sitting next to it had just 575 miles on the odometer.

This Rolls has been preserved in essentially as-new condition with virtually no evidence of wear. The vast expanse of leather remains supple and gorgeous. The extensive wood surfaces appear as new.

The preserved condition of the underhood area defies description. Paint and coachwork appear as new. The brightwork is superb.

It remains a time-warp example of '80s extravagance and would make a meaningful addition to any unique Rolls collection.

It is the only such example on the planet and is quite likely the lowest mileage Spur on the planet.

Our few exploratory miles reveal the engine runs perfectly, C is cold and most of the switchgear functions correctly. And the self-leveling suspension responded perfectly and the car sits correctly with zero bleed down.

Tires are original, nd as one would expect seriously flatspotted.
