1969 Saab 96 in Toreador red (color code R2) with black interior. 4 speed column shifter and low 82,000 original miles
This vintage Saab was restored in 1991 and has only had a few thousand miles added since. The car sat in long storage for many years and has been recently refreshed. There are two thick binders and some trophy's that come with the car. One binder is an original factory service manual. The second binder includes some photos from the 1991 restoration and lots of service records.
Starts right up and runs great. A new electronic fuel pump was just added, which is a significant upgrade from the mechanical pump. Original Solex single barrel carburetor. When the fuel pump was replaced, the fuel tank was removed and cleaned, along with all the fuel lines.
15 inch tires are older but have only a couple thousand miles on them and are fine for around town driving. Stock wheels are painted black and have original factory Saab dog dish hubcaps with Saab logo.
The interior is excellent: brand new front and rear carpet, excellent seats with only one minor slit in the drivers seat bottom. Gauges work. Excellent headliner. All glass is excellent.
The car was painted during the restoration in 1991. There are a few scratches and minor bubbles from poor paint prep but at 10 feet this 96 is a real looker. See photo's.
**please note that this sale does NOT include: front Norwegian license plate, roof rack and trim rings. These were just removed after the photos were taken and put on my 1973 96.
If I kept this car I was planning to do an amateur patch job on the floors in the spring (see photo's). Rust on the floors was recently treated with POR 15.
Selling to make room for my very first real barn find that came up unexpectedly last week. Garaged near Charlottesville Virginia. Clean Virginia title in sellers name.
