Description for Shelby GT350 Convertible, 1968
All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. I can assist with financing and transport as needed. This 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible represents one of the most desirable Mustangs of its era. It is a stunning car that has been through an extensive $150k restoration completed in 2015 (receipts and photos included). The result is one of the nicest Shelby vehicles you will find, top to bottom, inside and out.In the summer of 2013 this well used but original Highland Green... GT350 was sent to the Mustang Barn in Souderton, PA where a 2-year restoration commenced. This was a full scale nut-and-bolt project of the highest quality. The car was completely disassembled. The body was stripped to bare metal and put on a rotisserie. All mechanical systems were rebuilt. The interior was completely redone. Everything was repaired, reconditioned, or replaced; fiberglass, trim, wires, chrome, lenses, seals, bushings, etc. I have a stack of receipts and about 300 pictures of the restoration, some of which appear in the gallery. Be sure to see the underside pictures as well. The car has been driven 500 miles since completion so everything is properly sorted out. The paint is excellent, befitting of such a classic. The Shelby fiberglass panels have amazing fit and finish with contours that accurately match the adjacent metal panels. Door gaps are nice and straight. The interior is like new. A Marti report is included showing a build date of March 12, 1968. Some of the listed factory equipment includes luxury bucket seats, shoulder harnesses, power top with glass window, wheel lip moldings, power steering, power front disc brakes, extra cooling package, tilt steering column, tachometer, and trip odometer. The factory 302 cubic inch engine was fully rebuilt. The engine and 4v cylinder heads appear original to the car, with casting dates of 8B23 (February 23, 1968) and an engine assembly stamping of 8B27 (February 27, 1968). It has the correct Shelby high rise intake manifold, valve covers, and air cleaner. There are a few upgrades for more enjoyable driving, including a roller valvetrain with larger camshaft, an electric choke, and Flowmaster mufflers. The factory C4 automatic transmission was also fully rebuilt with a shift kit, and the 9" rear end with 3.50 gears was completely redone. And of course all other mechanical systems were rebuilt including the brakes, steering, and suspension.Like the rest of this Shelby, the interior looks fantastic. The 6AA luxury bucket seats along with the woodgrain accents really make for a sharp appearance. Note the 1968 seat belt labels. The power top and tilt column work smoothly. Everything functions properly including the gauges and the clock with original style movement. It is all what you'd expect from this level of restoration. An aftermarket digital sound system was installed in the dash, along with a satellite radio system in the center console with a magnetic antenna out back. This can all be returned to the factory AM radio setup if desired. There are far too many details to cover in this ad; it would take hours just to properly review the receipts. But suffice it to say, if you are searching for a top quality Shelby then you won't find many like this one.
