Description for Shelby GT350 1967

1967 Shelby GT350 #2011. Lime Gold/Black. inboard lights with the very rare combination of automatic transmission and factory air conditioning. This car is in the Shelby American Automobile Club Registry and has been verified as authentic prior to my purchase. The car and both Shelby and Ford VIN numbers match SAAC records as correct and original. It was invoiced to Courtesy Motors in Littleton. CO with documented options. All copies of original documentation available from SAAC are included with the car. This includes: Original Shelby American Invoice Originial Shelby American Production Order Original Special Vehicle Order Form SAAC Registry Entry Form for First Owner The first owner of the car had it shipped to Venezuela where it lived for 30 yrs. This ownership has been documented in the SAAC registry. I purchased this car in 2006 with the initial intention of making a competition/track vehicle out of it. It was in well used. but mostly stock condition at the time of purchase. After having the car for exactly one month. I found a ’66 GT350 that was already partially setup as a track car and I abandoned the idea of modifying this one. Also. being a rare factory Auto-Air conditioning model. it is probably best left in stock condition. I've sourced some original parts during the very sympathetic restoration and also replaced some safety items with brand new pieces. It will provide a new owner with a solid basis for a true show car or a reliable driver for vintage rallies and other events. Despite the proliferation of overseas made reproduction pieces. I’ve made every effort to retain original components wherever possible. Body- Bare metal repaint and chassis detailing completed by Dale Wiesert at Old School Enterprises in Clinton. MD. The results are an excellent but not overdone finish. It was hand buffed and polished. The body shows the original date coding under the rear seat. rear trunk and valence area as well as door strikers. Orig leaf spring snubbers are intact. Replacement urethane bushings are currently installed but originals are included. The factory Lime Gold paint was apparently not popular in the 60s and 70s but it draws quite a crowd today. This is surely because of all the cars that are currently offered in similar hues. 67s did not have factory installed Le Mans stripes. Today. stripes can be added in vinyl or Plasti Dip very easily if desired. Chassis- During the repaint. the chassis was also cleaned and detailed as originally delivered in red oxide. Brakes were rebuilt and detailed with new linings and pads. The original brake lines were exhausted and replaced with original style items. PLEASE NOTE - Engine bay and chassis finish appears more glossy than in real life. This is due to the lighting present during photography. Suspension- Rebuilt and overhauled. The Koni shocks were refinished and bushings replaced. All original pieces are included where replacements were made. Wheels- Shelby 10 spokes freshly refinished to as new condition (see close up picture). Engine – Date coded. original. standard bore HiPo 289 with 1M crank. correct HiPo rods. original style pistons. HiPo crankshaft and 1965 HiPo heads. The engine was rebuilt and assembled by Ron McCall at McCall’s Transmission Works in Hampstead. MD. The intake and carb are excellent reproductions but the exhaust manifolds are the rare original pieces. The original HiPo distributor and other original pieces were cleaned up carefully and refinished only when necessary. Correct Cobra aluminum valve covers were refinished and reinstalled. An original type Autolite battery was also used. The original. factory tagged A/C components are included with the car although an aftermarket compressor is now installed and fully functional. The engine has break in miles only and runs very strong. Transmission – Original C4 automatic transmission rebuilt by Dale Wiesert at Old School Enterprises. All original covers and trim were cleaned and reused. Differential – Original 9 inch in excellent condition. fully serviced and detailed. Interior – The interior is very original. The headliner and carpet were replaced with high quality reproductions. All other interior panels have the requisite patina associated with a 47 yr old car. All of the important original Shelby specific items are present…the 8000rpm tach. 140 mph speedo. Italian wood steering wheel. auxiliary underdash gauges. and seat belt retractors…The front windshield was replaced in the 1980s but the rest of the glass is very rare original with patina as can be seen by the "Carlite" scripts in the pictures. The suspension is tight and noise free. the motor is tight and starts up quickly with no issues. It will provide the new owner with a terrific asset to be enjoyed on the open road or at any car show. The car looks fantastic and drives very well. The sympathetic restoration is VERY FRESH having just been completed. The motor and mechanicals are still in their "break in" phase. Also. I've received questions on conversion to a manual transmission. This can be done quite easily today without much modification or expense. I will consider partial trades (project cars okay):Detomaso PanteraFerrari BB or vintage Ferrari in general (missing drivetrain ok)Maserati Ghibli or Bora (missing drivetrain ok)1969-70 Boss 3021992-93 Viper RT/10Benelli Sei 750 or 900Bimota DB1Ducati F1 or 851The car can be seen in the Wash. DC area. Please ask questions or come see the car *before* you bid. On Nov-29-14 at 16:35:57 PST. seller added the following information: CORRECT VIN IS 67211F7A02011
