Description for Studebaker Hawk 1962
This is a wonderful daily driver quality Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. It is currently licensed and driven to car shows and around town. There is little to no surface rust anywhere. There some imperfections but would be a very easy restoration for the novice car collector.History:This car was shipped to Pomona California on November 24th 1961; I have a copy of the factory build sheet from the Studebakermuseum. The car was purchased and brought to Chicago in the late 80's and was then sold to Grand Rapids Michigan in 1994. It stayed there until 2011 and then went to Tuscola IL, here I bought it in July of last year.
What I believe has been done: The previous owner claimed that he did this and based on the evidence I believer this is trueCleaned all brake wheel cylindersinstalled new water pumpAdjusted the valves.Cleaned out the gas tank.Removed the freeze plugs, nd flushed out the block.
What I have done: I have all the receipts for this work.Rebuilt and re-cored the radiator.Replaced the wheel bearings.New battery.New tires.New air filter.
The bad:Paint needs help; It has been painted severaldifferentcolors, nd is showing through in places. The hood has been replaced. The engine smokes when it starts and my mechanicrecommends that the valve guidesbe replaced.
The car is ready to be driven and can be driven to the Studebaker International meet in St. Louis.
