Reserve: $4000 . buyers are WELCOME to preview the car. This is an awesome project for which I no longer have the time to dedicate. So far the body has been cleaned up. painted. and the interior has been prepped for finishing. All of the original metal is there (fenders. trim. dash. etc). The Fenders were not re-installed after the paint job but they are included and in good condition. The electrical system has been converted to work with a 12v battery and run on a negative ground however. the system needs to be "cleaned up" to look nice. The wiring is functional right down to the turn signals and high beams. The drive train is the original 170ci I-6cyl and up until a couple of weeks ago it fired up. ran quiet. and drove around the neighborhood . then the nose cone to the starter broke. The engine could still use some minor tuning: The oil pump leaks. The mechanical fuel pump could use a rebuild kit (it is currently working but. it is weak). and the point and condenser could use replacement and adjustment. Overall. the engine sounded good and had smooth power delivery for the short time I drove it. The transmission is neat . It is a three speed standard shift on the tree but. it automatically disengages on deceleration and re-engages when you step on the gas. It also has the original electronically engaged overdrive unit (a somewhat uncommon option on these cars!). I do not know if the OD unit is working because I did not hook it up after converting to 12v. Judging by the rest of the drive-line. it should work just fine. The tires are brand new "modern style" on the original rims. The suspension has the air ride option on the rear shocks but. the system that feeds it is out so they will need replacement with standard shocks or the original system will have to be restored. The front shocks work but. could also use replacement. The steering linkage need restoration. The steering box is fine and the car steers ok but. the joints are old and worn. The interior is really what is left on the project. The dash and original components are there. they just need cleaning and some re-installation. The Seats obviously need recovering but. they are intact. functioning. and solid. The only thing missing are the door panels (which can be easily fabricated) and a couple of flat panel glass pieces for the side windows. There you have it: Less than $1000 additional investment and a month of Sundays will earn you a $10k-$12k car . and probably the coolest looking car in your neighborhood! This car is REGISTERED and INSURED until the day it sells. Until the starter broke. I was driving it locally. I'll be sad to see it go but. The "spinner" grill was introduced in 1950. similar to that of a Ford Deluxe. nbsp;but was dropped again for the 1952 model year.
