Description for Studebaker 6 1931
1931 Studebaker 6 which features a freshly rebuilt late model flathead 8 backed by a 5 speed transmission. There is a new driveshaft connecting the tranny to a late model Ford rear differential. The car rides on new rubber covered leaf springs all around, nd the front has a solid axle converted to disc brakes. Radiator is excellent and the exhaust is a new dual system. The steering has been rebuilt as well. The brake system is all new and located below the floor.
The body is in very good condition. There is very little rust which is limited to the top front corners of the cab behind the drip moldings. The fenders and running boards are excellent, he cab shell is straight, he right door is excellent and the left is square and rust free, ut was blasted with a shotgun at one point in time and has a bunch of small dents. The roof has been filled in a weather tight fashion but the quality of the work is substandard to what I like. The hood is good.
The rumble seat functions as it should and the seat is in place. The main seat has been replaced with a bench seat from a newer car, ut the original seat frames and springs are included. The glass is all new or excellent and is all included. The car has been converted to 12 volt and everything works, ut needs some tidying up. The wood in the cab has been replaced with square tubing.
Car runs and drives nicely, teers and brakes as it should. With a better paint job and some tlc, his would be an excellent and rare classic.
