Description for Studebaker Cruiser 1966
This is an excellent example of Studebaker's top of the line model for 1966, he Cruiser. Cruisers featured 4 doors, n ultra luxurious interior and a vinyl top. Studebaker's manufactured their cars in their Canadian plant for the last two model years. The power plants were Canadian built GM engines which were both durable and reliable. This car's engine is original, ut it's automatic transmission has been replaced with a modern GM 4 speed automatic for better gas mileage and performance. The interior is all original except for the floor carpets. As you can see from the photos it's in fantastic shape. The only flaws are the plastic chrome trim on the door panels has worn off and the sun visor retainer clips are broken. I have new ones in the glove box. The plastic chrome trim can be covered with chrome tape. I tried doing this but it needs better adhesive than the standard built in adhesive. This car has cold, orking factory air conditioning with the Studebaker logo. The radio is original but has added FM hidden inside its chassis. Turning the power button off and on again toggles between AM and FM but the radio appears original on the screen. The tires are radial with high tread and are in excellent shape. I was able to purchase 4 brand new old stock correct wheel covers 2 years ago which are on the car. The originals are in the trunk. The car starts, uns and drives like a modern car. It has power steering. The power brakes were replaced with modern Turner disk brakes. Everything works except the clock. This was a California car for most of its life and was bought by a Studebaker parts dealer in Arizona before being sold to me. This car had tinted windows and was always garaged. The original gold paint was repainted in clear coat and is very glossy. Chrome is in near perfect condition. From occasional daily use, here are several very tiny imperfections, ll of which would not show up on a photo and can only be seen from very close up in person. This is not a concourse trailered car, ut could definitely be shown in local shows or club shows and take some trophies. As a weekly driver, his car excels. It attracts attention and comments whenever I drive it. My reason for selling it is that I moved to a smaller dwelling with only one covered parking place. When winter comes I will need that spot for my daily driver. Feel free to contact me for further information or extra photos if you wish. Buyer will have to arrange shipping at buyer's cost or pick up locally. I will assist in any way I can. Payment by secured funds, ashier's check, r to be arranged between buyer and seller. NO personal checks. Note: The distinctive Studebaker S hood ornament broke off as I was cleaning the car for sale. I ordered a new one and it is in the glove box.
