Description for Studebaker Daytona 1966
You are bidding on a 1966 Studebaker Daytona Sport Sedan.
2 door, 283 V8 Studebaker Thunderbolt engine (small block chevy).
This is an extremely rare car. One of only 620 built.
Out of the 620 built, there are only 41 known to exist on the registry with the desirable 283 engine. Out of the 41, this is one of 2 known to exist with Red on Black top with White interior. I'm sure there are more out there, but they are rare!
This car runs and drives excellent. It starts right up, choke works, transmission shifts smoothly, and holds the road well. The brakes are all brand new, and the tires are in excellent condition. The engine doesn't smoke, or make any noises.
It has a brand new dual exhaust with chrome turn down tips.
The interior is in great shape! The only problems are that the radio doesn't work, and there is one medallion missing from the driver seat back.
The vinyl top is cracking and peeling on the top.
The undercarriage is in good shape. The floors are all solid, and the brake lines and hoses are all new. The trunk floor is a little weak in one corner, but no holes.
There is rust on the lower rockers, fenders and very small spots on the doors. There is also bubbling on the front leading edge of the hood.
It is important to mention that this car was parked in a garage during Hurricane Sandy. It did get about 12" of water in it. It was stored indoors, and all the fluids were changed. The car was cleaned out, and all the bearings repacked.
It has no lasting damage from the storm, but I do not want to pretend it didn't happen.
The car is still in really nice shape, and runs awesome!
