Description for Studebaker STARLIGHT COUPE 1951
1951 Studebaker Starlight Coupe Resto-Mod
CIVILIZED, RELIABLE, MODERN
1951 Studebaker Professionally Installed on modern GM chassis
This 1951 Studebaker Resto-Mod is located in dry, central California; it is original and rust free. I am 3rd owner of this Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe, purchased new at Art Palmer Studebaker, Highway 395, Vista California.
This resto-mod began with a late-model, low mileage Chevy compact pickup. The frame was carefully blasted, sealed, and painted with Nason Black Polyurethane. BellTechâ„¢ Sport drop spindles & lowering springs and KYB Street Performerâ„¢ gas shocks provided the perfect ride height. Brakes were rebuilt, and new 20" forged alloy IROC rims and Pirelli P-Zero tires were installed.
The Studebaker was pre-fitted to the OEM frame, then underwent a rotisserie restoration and placed on the GM frame. Work completed includes new glass, interior, headliner, carpet, weatherstrip molded rubber window gaskets, and Nason 2-stage high pigment paint. The interior and body were disassembled painted and reassembled as original, including window channels, chrome, brightwork and original welting on rear fenders.
The entire car has Dynamat® sound deadening keeping it quiet and cool. The GM dash gages fit perfectly into the stock dash opening. The complete OEM wiring harness, computers, dash gauges and GFA remain untouched and intact to preserve electrical integrity. This Studebaker Resto-mod can even be diagnosed and serviced at any GM/Chevy dealer and gets 29mpg!
