Description for Studebaker Special 1931
1931 Studebaker Highboy Street Rod Roadster
Let me explain myself before I get started on describing what I believe to be the nicest, most carefully planned and executed, most beautiful street rod you will ever see. I'm not a dealer or someone who flips cars. I have sold three of my own cars on eBay over the years and I have sold three cars over the past two years for personal friends. I am listing this car for another long-time friend who I personally think is the most skilled and thorough custom car builder you would ever find. Don't bother looking. He doesn't build cars to sell. He creates beautiful as a hobby. This gorgeous car was not built for sale, but for his personal enjoyment. Why is he selling? Simple. Like me and others at our ages he needs to downsize by reducing his fleet of nice cars and other properties as well.
I don't charge people. The only thing I get is a PayPal deposit and I pass the balance after selling expenses to the owner. I do the listings because I enjoy helping friends.
I live close to this car and I have been privileged to have seen this car over time. So, while I'm not great on technical details, I know an incredible car when I see one. Note that these photos were taken on June 22nd, 2019.
Here's what you will get when you buy this great parade and cruise-in car:
A 1931 Studebaker with an all steel body, a beautifully fabricated hood, a Stayfast fold down or removable top, a nice vintage-type interior with wind-up windows and a driver's power seat, seatbelts on both sides, a 1965 Buick 401 cubic inch "Nailhead" engine, custom fabricated sprint car style headers, a GM 400 transmission, Moroso transmission cooler, Ford 9-inch rear with a 3.25:1 ratio gears, a TCI Custom Show IFS (independent front suspension), four wheel power disc brakes, custom fabricated fuel tank, electric pump for priming the fuel system after extended periods of shutdown, a Walker custom built radiator, Painless wiring, VDO instrumentation, Lokar transmission shifter, Lokar parking brake assembly, Pioneer radio/CD player with remote control and hidden antennas, electric cooling fan override switch and more.
The car has been driven less than 1500 miles total. The odometer shows 936.2, but the speedometer was not hooked up early in the build.
This car is priced to sell with a modest reserve. Bid early and often.
