Description for Studebaker 1958

My father owned the Studebaker Dealership in San Leandro California many years ago and he saved this car to one day restore it and keep for himself. My father has passed away a few year back and it's time for this Studebaker to find a good home.

I did nothing to it but transfer ownership from the original "small California pink-slip" to my name (same last name as my father). It was stored outside in San Leandro California, I never tried to start it. There is rust here and there, the normal rust areas in the rear wheel wells, floor pans etc.-it will need restoration. -Please look at photos. Random points:

- New Rear Back Glass Panel. It still needs to be secured to the frame.

  • The 1958 Studebaker President/Commander Starlight was a one-year anomaly from South Bend. The models were hardtop coupes with a thin-section roofline and compound-curve backlight a la contemporary Chrysler products, but built from Studebaker's standard "non-Hawk" bodyshell. - https://auto.howstuffworks.com/1958-studebaker-president-commander-starlight.htm Howstuffworks.com

  • Studebaker reintroduced the President nameplate in 1955 when it was applied to all premium-trimmed vehicles. The most noteworthy of these later Presidents was the 1955 Studebaker Speedster. The President name was discontinued after the 1958 model year, when Studebaker began focusing on the compact Studebaker Lark. The final editions of Packard automobiles (1957-58) were based on this platform - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker_Commander

-This is NOT a running vehicle. I have never started it. It is being sold not running to be restored fully. Assume it needs everything fixed, repaired, replaced. It is what it is.

- 81,5485 Miles

My goal is to sell this car with a reasonable end-of-auction-bid. The reserve is set at what I consider a reasonable price. I will not share the reserve price.

Good luck on your bidding.
