Description for Subaru SVX 1992
As there are now too MANY cars for the garage, I must sell my 1992 Subaru SVX LSL. I acquired this car as a 2 owner one family car. It was driven daily for most of it's 122,000 original miles and then driven only occasionally. It was lovingly owned by a mother then son in law and then I acquired it approximately 5k miles ago. When I acquired this car, it was in need of a transmission. As is typical of the SVX, the reverse gear had diminished. It then got a 90k Subaru Legacy 4.44 conversion including the rear end. However, after the conversion, the transmission began to leak from what is believed to be a front seal. With fluid, it does shift as it should through all gears. However, due to the transmission leak, I would not consider driving it any considerable distance until the repair is completed. Here is what I know -There are no trouble lights or codes that appear on this car. The air conditioning works, but leaks from an 0-ring seal and currently needs a belt. After the transmission, the next project was cam seals as they are wet. There is only one spot of rust anywhere on the car as pictured. The hood and trunk struts do not hold very well. The front drivers seatbelt was rewired but is functionable. The sunroof needs a bump, but opens and closes as it should and does not leak. The original spare tire and jack are still with the car. The interior is extremely nice for it's age and the engine performs very well as it should. The suspension is tight and responsive. Tire tread is very good. The original paint still has a nice shine. The windshield and glass have no cracks or chips. This is not a show car as it had been driven daily and does have typical door dings, rock chips and minor scrapes as a car of this age would. Overall, this car is a very nice example of a never abused, unmolested, classic Subaru AWD SVX LSL with low mileage. I hope this car goes to someone who appreciates Subaru's. The car is to be paid for in cash or by paypal only. Storage can be arranged for a short period of time. I can accommodate a shipper if transport is needed. A non-refundable deposit of 250$ by PayPal is due within 24 hours of the end of this auction to avoid negative feedback. The Subaru SVX was produced between 1992 and 1997 and roughly 7000 examples were imported to the United States. They were designed as a technical exercise to demonstrate Subaru's engineering and manufacturing superiority and feature a 230 horsepower 3.3 Liter Horizontally-Opposed "Flat 6" engine featuring 4 cams and 24 valves, along with 7 main bearings. The exterior was styled by Gorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign in Italy, famous for designing many timeless exotic and supercars. Its most notable feature is its window-within-window design with glass-to-glass canopy. This window design allows the glass to extend all the way to the roof line of the car, and the windows can be completely down in rain or snow without wind or weather entering the cabin.
This Subaru SVX features the "Symmetrical All Wheel Drive." It is one of the best AWD systems on the market, and these cars go absolutely anywhere, no matter the weather.
These cars were and are incredibly under-rated and vastly ahead of their time. The Subaru SVX is a great way to acquire an exotic looking sports car for very little money. It is the opinion of several automotive journalists that the SVX is poised to increase in value as it has become quite rare.
