Description for Toyota Celica 1985
Although therewereonly 4,478 of these 4-cylinder, .4 L, 05 Horsepower, -door convertibles made in 1985, ll non-convertible parts are interchangeable with the more common Toyota Celica GT-S. This 4th generation Toyota front-wheel drive now classic automobile has the flip-up headlamps, eep-dish alloy rims, ronounced fender flares, acPherson struts suspension, igital instrument panel, ith color LCD display, ower windows & locks, ir conditioning, tc. Buddy G. (a fellow teacher in Page, Z before I moved here 7 years ago) ordered this car from the factory in 1985. He bought it fully loaded & it includes very rare chrome panels on the bottom half of this red (grey interior) car. It got 24-30 mpg. He sold it to a friend of his in Las Vegas who sold it to my grandson back in Page, Z last summer. Chris brought it here & in one month blew the engine. It is now a car in need of restoration or as a parts car.
It is in good condition for its age although the white electronic convertible top has tiny holes at outer frame points, rear tail light cover broken (lights work fine), rake pedal rubber cover fell off, uel gauge not accurate (shows ¾ when actually full), ear passenger speaker cover popped off (works fine), utside passenger door handle not operating (he heard the screw fall out when he went to open the door), amp; a dead battery, ut all electronics work.No A/C because, eriously, hy do you need it with a convertible, nyway? I thinkC. said thereis a small seam split on driver's seat but it has seat covers over it so I don't see or feel it. Front & rear seats always had covers for protection. There are a few dings here & there. No paint missing that I can see. Virtually all parts are original & it has all 3 pieces that cover the convertible top when the top is down.
Unfortunately C.took pictures near sunset & not enough of the insides. I tried to take more but as its in my dark single car garage, hey didn't turn out. I have no way to movethecarout now that my grandson has become an adult & moved out. He & his buddies pushed it out last month, ook pictures of it, hen wanted to do other things so pushed it back in & it wasn't until he moved out & sent me the pictures to post that I saw not interior pictures or enough close ups of damage were taken. But the car isindecent shape except what's mentioned. You'll need to look up pictures of the Celica details from a web site (Autoblog?). Sorry for not having better pictures!
It has always (& still is) been kept in a garage. I want it out as it's obvious C. is not going to rebuild it having moved back to Arizona a few weeks ago. I wish I wasn't having to do this as I don't know enough about this car & am very uncomfortable doing this for my grandson. I started this a month ago just after he moved out, ut never finished, hen the draft expired... Ihave the notarized title signed here in Thermopolis, Y.
VIN # JT5RA65K2F4053359 (3 car owner-AutoCheck History Report says "calculated ownersis 4", ut it's only been 3). First registered in AZ (no snow/ice/ salt/rust) in Aug. 1985. It has 197,270 miles. I have an AutoCheck I can send if it doesn't show up automatically through this eBay listing. (First time I've ever listed a vehicle.) This rare car is in search of a new enthusiast looking for something unique & "celestial"(what Celica means).
