Description for Toyota Other 1988
Desirable 2nd generation Toyota 4wd pickup with 22re fuel-injected engine, sp. manual transmission, nd optional SR5 package. Original paint and decals, nmolested original interior (factory radio, ir conditioning, eat covers, oor panels, arpet, tc.), nmodified stock factory engine and suspension. The truck originally came from Oregon and was extremely well cared in terms of routine maintenance and use. Based on the condition of the paint and interior, t was likely always garaged and never driven on treated winter roads.
Mileage is 159K but it runs like a newer truck. Passed emissions test with flying colors, ses no oil, nd gets great fuel mileage. Steering is tight and the truck tracks perfectly straight. Clutch and transmission shift tight and smooth. Brake calipers and pads are new (slight pulsation due to rotors not being turned per previous owner). Engine compartment is extremely clean and original. Undercarriage is excellent with mostly factory black paint still intact. Original alloy wheels and correct gold-lettered ornaments. The chrome grill and bumpers are in great condition.
Mechanically, he truck could use new tires as the current set is older and thin (I considered changing out but realize most truck owners have their own preferences). The clutch master cylinder works fine but has a slight drip that requires occasional topping off. The body has some scratches and dings but there is no evidence of panel repair and the paint shines nicely. The truck had a plastic bedliner installed that caused some paint loss on the top edge of the rear quarters and a very thin layer of surface rust in the rear bed that could easily be sanded off (see last photo).
Overall, would rate this truck in very good/excellent original condition. It has escaped the usual modifications (radio, heels, ngine, uspension, umpers, tc.) and was well cared for and never abused. Currently, would not consider it a "show" truck but rather a very respectable and reliable daily driver that should provide years of future enjoyment. Original owner's and factory service manuals are included.
Please note that the vehicle history report is incorrectly reporting the mileage. The current mileage is 159066.
On Sep-30-15 at 13:16:19 PDT, eller added the following information:I thought I should add that the truck was not primary transportation or a work truck for me. I purchased it as a collectible and have treated it as such (i.e., araged, ot driven on wet roads, inimal but periodic driving). The only reason I am considering selling is for financial reasons; otherwise, t is a keeper!
